I've built three of that style buildings now and it still amazes me how quickly they go up. It takes far, far longer to treat the outside than it does to build them. I'm guessing it's on your parents land? That's always the problem with tiny houses. They can be build relativity cheaply but the money in property is always in the land not the building itself. You've both done a fantastic job there.
@overlandingrobin10 күн бұрын
Yes it’s on my dad’s land. It’s incredibly difficult to find land you’re allowed to buy a tiny house on here. I’ve looked at various properties but couldn’t get the permits

What underfloor insulation did you use? Glad to see the heat pump though. That old office furniture is great stuff, functional, but also really strong, and so many people can't imagine it in a domestic setting so it is excellent value for money. You definitely picked the right dad, btw!

The 'kitchen' bench top looks absolutely stellar! I know the green blends with the house, but refurbing the wood on the drawers (like the top) and highlighting the frame of them with glossy black would look so amazing. Maybe another project, try that combo with rectangular type objects framed in black. The green washes out into an uninteresting blob instead of popping with interest. The reason green looks good in the house is that it's trimmed and blends into the background. Just my opinion. Those drawers cry out for individual identity! :-)

Hi Robin, a few more details why i am so overwhelming bout you. Know why? I am what they call a double-left-handed, seatfarting theoretician. It took me so many years to let go my fears and finally buy an old motorbike (22 years ago now, i still have it). I was always too afraid of having it broken down on the highway, and standing there helplessly. Now after all this time i had it´s gearbox out already twice, and it worked well. And finally i also own an old car, gaining more and more confidence in myself. This is what i see in YOU: that ease with which you overcome troubles. Disassembling such a big car? You just start. A 50 kg axle to dismantle, repair, clean and paint? Let´s go. You just have the strength to just do it, and your blog gives this positivity over to all of us. This is why i am so happy about your happiness, and it is also the reason why i said: YOU are the best Christmas gift.
