I moved in London from Italy and after five months, even if I have a lot of friends there, there was no way I could feel home. Then I moved to Chichester and everything changed! I felt in love with everything in that city and finally I was home. I do understand what you mean, for me it was just a place matter, but for some other people (like my french friend) no place could do the trick cause he was unhappy with himself so he kept moving from Chichester to Birmingham, back to Chichester then to Cork then to Amsterdam and then he finally found his place inside and everywhere he is doesn't really matter.

When you said you still feel sad i felt that, a home isn't always 4 walls but actually its within us mentally, time is a healer and eventually your realise that you become home. It took me years to realise that i didn't need a place to feel like home as long as i felt like me. If that makes any sense to you🤣👑❤️

We moved March of 2017 from Colorado to Kentucky. We bought the perfect (with freakishly creaky floors) home that checked all the boxes on our wish list. BUT, it didn’t feel like home until new memories were made in it. Not just day-to-day memories, but having family and friends over. That is when you begin to feel like you’re home. Have you planned a drop-in house warming? Give it time. Purpose to create some new memories in your place. Now go call a friend and make a plan! Your place is adorable and YES to fairy 🧚‍♀️ lights!

It's my jam. 2) I know you said that it doesn't feel like home but I will say that I think you have done a wonderful job to make it home-y (is that a word) and personal. When I lived in London, this would have been my dream place! Instead I lived in a light blue flatshare at a huge crossing, sharing with exchange students and mice. The landlord had glued pictures of lilies and gardenias to the uneven wall and the hot water heater exploded at some point (literally). Still loved it :-). Just give yourself time and enjoy how lovely it looks, and it will start feeling like home as you settle in and heal and make your new habits and traditions :-).

I would so love to live there. You’ve really made it beautiful and you have everything you need. Just fab. I live in a house that I call ‘mine’ but realistically it’s the banks! CUTE studio!! Here in the US many people are living in "Tiny homes" which they say is money saving & liberating. RE: Squeeky floor, try to brush as much baby powder into the cracks (if you can) & it will seriously lubricant the pieces to stop the noise! My house was built in 1911 & this place is squeeky, especially stairs.

❤Honestly the room is lovely and and I would definitely hang up some fairy lights but first I would put some white sheer curtains and trust me the place would look so much better and it will be so cosy with curtains I think they have in Primark like the white share ones curtains and on top of that when you hang the fairy lights put it behind the curtains so it will make the lights looking almost like shimmer and a small tip if you will get the curtains and you will want to fresh them up you can use clothes softener and a little bit of water and use a spray bottle that is empty and then spray the curtains it will make the whole room smell so fresh and clean all day long. P.s. sorry for my English if some sentences are not making sense at all 😳it's just I'm learning English and it's not great but it's getting there😊

I ran across this video I love architecture and just houses and apartments and stuff I've been living in the same place for 40 years so I guess I'm bored. I quit my job in London and my houseshare over six years ago and been homeless and nomading around for the past 6 years (entirelly volutarily). I found a sublet for the past 7 months, but I'll be homeless again in 3 days and it's a weird feeling. But I do believe you can't feel home until you have sorted out your issues. All places can be home and in the meantime, we have to lean and grow. Take care!

Try talc on the creaky floorboard, I read somewhere that it works. I would do the studio a little differently. I would have the bed on the other side of the room so that I could put a curtain over the area and close it off, or a unit or something to seperate the area. I would have the kitchen and sitting area together on the other side. I love how you have done your studio apt., it looks so clean and bright, and much bigger. Some Art work on the walls would help cover that big white wall where your bed is. You do you Lauren x

Lauren, there's a HUGE change (good by the way), coming in your life. Hang in there as this is going to be about you, making these changes vs anything that happens to make you do it. It's about you, making the decisions that you want to have in your life and ACCEPTANCE of what's happened, why and moving on again (with everything, not just a relationship that wasn't meant to be it seems). There's better things coming your way so, give yourself some time as it will all come from within you. About 6 months, I believe. In the meantime, you've made that place look amazing. This is only temporary though. It's a "stopover" so to speak. It's not your "forever life". Hang in there! :).

free cycle is super!! i live on finland but we have kinda same kinda facebook groups in different cities where people give stuff they dont need for free. i feel my house is full of stuff from there XD wich is wonderfull, i could not have made this home so nice without that group.

It looks lovely...maybe a door curtain,&some drapes around the windows, it will help with noise, aswell as cosyness&warmth. Also get get some burning sage&wave it around the room for clearing the bad energy in the room your feeling. Lots of big cushions on the bed so it looks like a headboard thing...just some thoughts...great youve got a couch in there aswell P.s...I would like to live in Brighton.♡

Love how you decorated 😃 My place is soo cluttered, I have hoarding issues like my dad lool. Maybe try to burn some sage sticks. I know this sounds very hippy, but many of my friends tried it when they moved to a new place or just wanted to clear out any weird vibes happening.
