I can only imagine the tonnes of patience you probably have to work with those miniscule but cute dominoes. Job well done! Thanks for the fantastic video, mate!
@Hevesh56 жыл бұрын
The size comparison to normal dominoes is crazy! Nice work setting up all those micro mini dominoes - looks like it was pretty difficult. I always found it fascinating how you draw out the domino path on the floor before building. Do you do that in pencil then just erase it after? Really liking the white floor too!
@flippycat6 жыл бұрын
Was difficult because I decided not to remove the magnify glass handle to easily access the spiral from both sides. Otherwise, not toooo difficult especially on the smooth surface I used. 1/4 of it was an awkward angle to work at. I made a line to follow so I could just sit on one side and also I was measuring the distance the spiral would be, but ended up not trying to use all the micros I have in the end. Used a pencil for this, but normally on my black floor if I need something marked to follow, I use a face paint marker, that washes off. Trying to color correct footage using white with many cameras was a pain. I used white for this because a magnify glass was better with a black frame, and I was maybe going to connect it to the pyramid scene that I used white for after the black version kinda failed to topple.

I like the whole half circle strategy with the small dominoes. Seems like it took longer to fall too. So satisfying. :)

Those dominoes are really small! The magnifying glass made out of dominoes was a great idea!

I think not showing the whole magnify glass handle, and the handle direction ended up making it a little hard to recognize what it is at first. I was going to do a micro field, magnified to regualr size domino field but then thought this idea I could magnify the micros, and the minis too, and didn't have to decide what message/image to put on a field.

KZbin now let's you see all the comments you ever wrote. With this account that I use so often, it took a really long time to scroll down to the bottom. After over 30min I discovered that over 7 years ago you were the first person I must have subscribed to and commented on. I can't tell if there was a time in between where I wasn't subscribed to you but you are definitely the channel I watch for the longest time.

Those tiny dominoes remind me of that time I wanted to buy Domino Rally, but didn't understand the differences between domino sets and ended up ordering Dominos Cascadas. Never heard of their dominoes until I bought them, expecting it to be just cheaper and a little more basic than Domino Rally, but I ended up with seriously minuscule dominoes. It was hard to set up, even for my kid hands and it made me pretty disappointed that I didn't get the proper Rally version.

This could probably be considered a world record for a spiral with micro dominoes. I setup something else already that is more worthy to be called a 'world record' though...will be in the next video probably.

@kgiantdomino27956 жыл бұрын
since when do you build on a white background ? amazing video !
@flippycat6 жыл бұрын
Looks like I painted the boards I built on to black in 2008, can't recall the exact reason I used black and not white, but the white surfaces I used before were getting very dirty and marked up. Black gets light scratches too, but the dirty doesn't show up as quick. These are just temporary for if I think something will be better on a lighter background (they are sheets of formica laminate, that unfortunately don't lay flat so are not ideal for building on until I can glue them to something to make flat - facebook.com/FlippyCat/photos/a.316505811968/10153334185386969/?type=3&theater ). I also have new white walls behind the black fabric I use now that I can use for a white area too but don't think I've made use of that in a video yet. I find it much easier to hide edges and stuff with black in my editor when I need to compared to when it's white.

White seemed to fit this better, with a black magnify glass frame + the darker blue dominoes. Plus I did another scene with white already, and was maybe going to do multiple scenes together. I figured this could stand on its own instead though (the handle was going to continue to something else). It's such a simple design on it's own, but it made use of the size differences.
