@Shampoid ah yes, the most original thought never to be conceive other than polyford. The idea of turning a pawn into a queen is so unfathomable. Even I when I played physical chess and promoted two queens, but there's only 1 each. I had never in a million years made a glimpse of connection in my brain of a pawn that turned into a queen. Truly how evil of that person to not credit the true most original inventor of turning pawn into a queen as it is impossible for it to be an original thought as it is only polyford's idea and no one else could ever think of such brilliant concept.

I wanted to give you my sincere gratitude. I’m a mechanical engineering major right now. Ive had a rough year with mental health and left me discouraged and disinterested in engineering as a whole. The night I discovered your channel, I found out I was going to fail a core class, and was getting ready to drop out, worse: give up completely on everything. I used to get discouraged with what I didn’t know. Feeling inadequate to the point of self loathing. I felt as if there was no point in trying, because my desired end goal was unattainable to me. But after recently discovering your content, and watching your entire library you’ve managed to change my perspective on learning. Especially your ice skating video your message of the value of the process over the end result. While my mental health battle is still ongoing. Your content has given me hope, and the will- to continue on. It’s cliche, but honestly if I didn’t discover your channel I would’ve done something drastic & irreversible to myself that night. So thank you for your wonderful content. It’s clear you put a lot of thought into your content, it doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Edit: I see you edited the message, and I want to say good call :) but you could also have left a reply Original message: It is not really true that the rules haven't changed at all in 2000 years. The rules for castling and how to move the king when doing it have changed a couple of times, the "if you touch a piece you must move it" rule did not always exist and, if I'm not wrong, the "en passant" rule that involves some pawn captures was introduced only 2 or 3 centuries ago Although the rules that have changed the most don't really affect casual players, since those are not those of the movement of the pieces, but rather rules of competitive chess (technicallities like what happens when you do an illegal move, the time limits of each kind of game, the number of games in the match for the world champion title, etc.)

10:59 literally gives me goosebumps! The fact that you chose to use pure mechanism to trigger the promotion is just perfection, not to mention your quality animation and editing! I've always been fascinated by the concept since Polyfjord's work, and then Pyrmillionaire's. You've all done a great job in this project. Give this man a million views and subs!!

1:40, i really like the collapse here, it adds a dynamic element to the scene and feels... Satsifying. It also really reminds me of some of Portal's humor with the Aperture Science turrent commercial where they do a cross section and the part removed just falls apart

This reminds me of a neat children's toy I used to have called "Bakugan". It was a plastic ball with a magnet at the bottom that triggered a transformation into a red dragon (or multiple other characters). It would include metal cards that triggered the magnet. Pretty cool stuff

Thank you for including the "demotivation" part. Your concept alone was SO much more sophisticated than theirs, and yet you shortly got derailed by it. Thank you for picking it up again, showed me that even when someone else publishes a "similar" thing, it never takes away from your take and people *do* understand the difference clearly
