This story truly touched my heart! The love, patience, and dedication Maggie showed in caring for that abandoned little puppy is beyond inspiring. You should NOT hold the puppy just by its neck skin. That harms it and is painful. You should always support its body and/or its legs. Also: Let it lie down, on its side or on its stomach, when you bottle-feed it, like it would be lying when suckling its mother. Do not hold it on its back and with its feet waving in the air. Its front paws would naturally press against the mother's stomach, massaging it. That kind of massage probably stimulates the milk production of the mother, so it is natural with puppies. So you should hold your hand against its paws and let the paws press against the hand. It is almost painful to watch this coumsy treatment of it.

We had a baby, 3 week old, we feed her every 4 hours. Use a wash cloth to teach her to got potty just like mom. We named her Lucky boy before we found she was a he. Lived her life great and she lived with us until she was 18 she got a tumor on her belly. We didn't want her to suffer.

Please, don't shake the puppies, you do that to much, and pup's need to be reinsured that they are safe in your hands, by holding them close to your body, when feed from a bottle, wrap a thick towel around the neck of the bottle so they have something to push on, like when they nurse on their mama.
