My Mojave does 52mph, I love it. You may have to turn down the stability in order to go a few extra miles an hour faster. To do that, you hold the wheel full lock to the right and press the power button, since I know you don't like reading instructions. So I don't have that many batteries and everything else I own is on a FlySky, but for the groms I just left them on Spektrum everything and bought a cheap Spektrum charger. If I want to go anywhere for a few days, I have one little bag that has everything I need in it and I'm good to go.

not my fault they make it so you cant use a normal charger or a normal battery. i even bought their stupid charger to charge the battery but it didn't come with the lead so seems like you have to bend over backwards to get that speed

@KevinTalbotTV Oh yeah I know, I’ve been ranting and complaining about this for the past couple weeks. It’s Horizon trying to turn our pockets inside out! The charger that comes with the Grom won’t do 3s, and then if you buy a Smart Charger you need to buy an IC2 to IC3 adapter in order for it to work. It’s only ~$8, but still it’s incredibly inconvenient. FYI, the part number for the adapter is: SPMXCA532. Thanks for the great content as always 💪

I've been watching your videos for a few weeks, the last time I was into R/C was the late 80s early 90s, but since watching your channel I've spent several hundred dollars already 😆 I bought 4 RC cars in the past month, I got the devastator mini crawler/monster truck, throwing real monster truck tires on mine with hub extenders, but I'll keep a set of tires for crawling, I enjoy watching all your videos, I like the boat videos best overall, but I like the crawler and bashing videos as well, keep up the good work have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🎄🎁🎉

BTW, you aren't hitting posted speed because of the temperature. I've watched many others hit 50 with the Mojave and faster with the Typhon.

@@URsooomad8613 There's an issue where the gyro system effects top speed slightly, so you have to turn it off and then you'll see higher top speeds. Regardless though that still doesn't change the fact that all batteries perform worse in the cold, no matter what. On a freshly charged 3s, still warm from being indoors, with the gyro off, people are hitting well above 50mph on the Mojave.

3:39 i have experienced simaler problems with traxxas trucks. From my experience it is caused by the TSM aka the gyro. You can fix it by tuning the gyro to max then to zero then to where you want it. Idk if this is the same problem!

My favorite rc ever was the 1/18th scale e-revo on lipos. Every now and then the speed control would burst into flames but traxxas would send a new one, lol. Loved my Flux, full size E Revo and 1/5th scale Baja 5sc but random fires aside, that wee shit was a blast.

Arrma have the real speeds posted on their box. It's Traxxas that has the speed posted with an Asterix and a bunch of very specific conditions to hit the claimed speed. I've watched a bunch of videos where KZbinrs can't hit Traxxas speeds. All the videos that I've seen on the brushless Groms have gone over 50 (Tomley, DoRC, Exocaged). I think Kevin's batteries were too cold, and that was preventing him from reaching the "real "speeds posted on the box

Im sure the servo speed and top speed performance was do to the temperature. That new spektrum esc uses solid state capacitors. They will take a minute to warm up. The benefit is that they are much better for bashing but unfortunately are affected by colder temps much easier

Awesome stuff Kev. All of the reviews on those Groms have been good. I think physics wise the smaller cars like that are just lighter and more compact size for size than larger cars, that makes them a bit more durable. I was hoping the cat would jump into the box you were unpacking.

The Spectrum Smart batteries are really goofy. They balance internally, so it doesn’t make any sense why you can’t use a traditional charger and non-balance charge them and let the internal balancer sort it out. The only reason I can think is that Horizon wants to grab as much of your cash as possible. Kev bought that 3s battery and now the only way he can charge it is if he buys a new Spectrum charger. We need to get back to universal standards like there were in the 80’s and 90’s when every model had a Tamiya connector and you only needed one type of charger lead. Now I have an entire drawer of dongles, and still need more. 🤦‍♂️

You know Philip jolley got 57 mph bone stock with an SMC 2200 3s lipo. I think 3 adapters and a drone lipo might be slightly outside of "normal" conditions

My one did 50 no problem with pinion gear. 51 mph if you put an even bigger pinion gear in it can get to 70 without getting hot. It’s an animal. 10/10
