It's a nice little quad. You should be happy with it.

i done it derek. it flies similar to my 5 inch. hey check this out. when i throttle up only 2 blades will spin and the go a little further then 3 then further all 4 will spin. they dont react to the throttle all at the same time. ever run into a situation similar to this?

LOVE the 3 blades!!!! Havemt tried the gold motors yet!! Your soldering skills are amazing 😮

I LOVE GOLD!!!!!! Tons of power and about 2 1/2 minuet flight t time. The tri-blade King Kong props are pretty good too. Keep practicing you'll get better at soldering.

I fly the bee brain v2 and went to a race and won 3rd with the cockroach frame. The Whoop build here is my backup but it's on spectrum.

Derek. I just subscribed after watching this and other following videos on this build. I like your presentation style and video camera angles. All in focus and showing us what we want to see and hear. Nice. Based on your video I am about to build one of these and wanted to ask a couple of quick questions. It is my first drone so I am not sure how deep I will go with this new found interest. Indoor to start with... then maybe who knows. I am trying to source each item locally here in Australia (for ease) and seem to be going ok except in two areas (FPV Camera and Motors) Can't seem to locate the FX900TW DETACHED ULTRALIGHT CAMERA except via your link, is there another camera that I might consider? As for the motors I can find them only in the US, but here I have found a supplier who can provide BETAFPV 6x15mm 19500KV motor (Gold). Similar but slightly less RPM and KV. Will that degrade performance much? Also, If I don't want to spend big bucks (yet) on the transmitter and FPV goggles, which yours by the way look awesome, what are your opinions on: FPV goggles ... Eachine EV100 720*540 5.8G 72CH FPV Goggles Transmitter... FrSky ACCST Taranis Q X7 Transmitter 2.4G 16CH Mode 2 Having said that It wold be nice to have something that can be used later for better/larger drones if I decide to continue. Sorry for the long comment. Thank you

The motors from BetaFPV would work just fine I also think they have some camera solutions if not check banggood.com. The QX7 is an excellent transmitter I would recommend it. The Eachine goggles are fine to get started but if get into the sport you will quickly upgrade. Hope that's some help.

Sounds like a great start! You wont regret having the extra parts, you will need them.
@DroneOn7 жыл бұрын
My friend we are a lot alike. I'm not that interested in racing just flying and whoop freestyle. I have tried plenty of motors and I have burned them all out. Now I'll fly motors until I see a decrease in performance and then I just change them. They are cheap so I don't mind just changing them. I also have use the king on props and it's going to be a matter of your taste in control of the quad copter. I run four blades pretty much all the time now. Great video.
@DerekandhisDrone7 жыл бұрын
The King Kong props are good! They fit super tight. The whoop is super fast and has a nice feel. I recorded a whole series for this whoop over the weekend. I love flying and there is nothing like the adrenaline rush of a 5 inch but the Tiny Whoops are so much fun. There is no shame in doing big things with a tiny quad. I was worried about doing too many Tiny Whoop videos but everybody loves them. I have some big things planned this season. Lets see how it goes!
@DroneOn7 жыл бұрын
Derek and his Drone awesome! They can be a totally different beast at times! I look forward to watching the series! I love to learn.

I went back to king kong props too.

I fly whatever on a whoop. I like the TBS props the best but they are too expensive. So King Kong it is!

hoe is the range of the betaFPV board vs others like the acrowhoop V2 and Beebrain v2 ?
@swugger5 жыл бұрын
are you only modifying the fpv camera for the OSD. do i need to do it?
@DerekandhisDrone5 жыл бұрын
Some cameras require modification but ones are becoming available that are ready for O.S.D. You will also need a flight controller that supports it. There are also a few available with a built in O.S.D.

@DerekandhisDrone7 жыл бұрын
I have some plans for that. The videos will be coming soon.
@davidummel67347 жыл бұрын
for me the unicorns get HOT! hot enough to cause the props to fly off
@DerekandhisDrone7 жыл бұрын
Lower your d gain to about 18 - 20 that should stop the motors from getting so hot.
@FukNewSkool6 жыл бұрын
Are the motors reversed on that FC? All my whoops with stock board the motor go the opposite direction as your's.
@DerekandhisDrone6 жыл бұрын
That is the default direction for craft running Betaflight. It is slightly more efficient.
@FukNewSkool6 жыл бұрын
Ah. Thanks for the reply. I'm looking to build one with a Betaflight board soon. I love mine but Acro leaves a lot to be desired on them.

Hey Derek! thank you for this awesome tutorial! Got me wanna build one :) Following your 3rd video , would you recommend buying the camera version that comes dipole antenna right from the start or would you replace the stock dipole antenna for the crazy pony's anyways? Thanks!
@DerekandhisDrone7 жыл бұрын
The antenna is really just personal preference. I like the dipole because it's smaller and more robust than the circular. I bought the circular one because that's what Tiny Whoop had in stock when I ordered. I knew it wouldn't be a big deal for me to change it. If you are still learning to solder you might want to go with the dipole.
@DanikFPV7 жыл бұрын
Derek and his Drone thanks for the quick reply! I was going tgrough the beta fpv site and i saw a combo version of the fc , the tower that comes with the camera plugged in that eliminates soldering :) is that camera ok? Would you recommend to start with that maybe? Thanks again!
@DerekandhisDrone7 жыл бұрын
BetaFPV makes some great stuff! I haven't used that set up but it should work for you. I would recommend getting some practice soldering boards to work on your skills.
