I loved this video so much when I saw it a month ago that I watched it again. Only this time, I'm appalled by the negativity of the more recent comments. Condemning Joanie for her "selfish" attitude or bemoaning the bed/bathtub set up?!?!? WOW!!! How many mom's do you know who cook from scratch (3 meals/day) or grinds her own flour? She's incredible!!! Joanie gave up a business that she loved but 'negotiated' the salon which Adam lovingly provided. This is an incredible couple who love their children enough to provide an exceptional, adventuresome life for their little ones. Will it be forever that they live this lifestyle? Perhaps not; but for now it is working brilliantly for them and who are we/you to cast aspersions on their choices let alone act like they're not providing properly for their children. Enough!!!

@@adamjoanieadventures I agree that you've done a great job fitting the salon in but am wondering if you're staying anywhere long enough to drum up regular clientele as people have to trust their hairdressers? So if you continue to only have 1 or 2 clients per week would you consider removing the non-storage parts to give the space back to the 'home' (i.e. as potential space for a washer-drier/bigger bathroom/kids closet)? As an alternative could you maintain your licence working as a 'mobile' hairdresser going to people's homes in your car? I don't get why everyone is so concerned about the kids, it looks like most of you look at this with your adult mind instead of putting yourself in the shoes of a child. Children don't care about having a queen size bed or a big room. Most children that are properly taken of by their parents (= not a child ignored by their parents who stay indoors all day on a tablet or computer) enjoy being outside more than being inside. I'm the most homebuddy person ever, I spend my days in my bed doing nothing at all, but when I was a child I was ALWAYS playing in the garden, unless it was too rainy and in that case I baked cakes with my mother or played board games. I promise you that these children are not any different. They have a huge playground to play outside, and it changes every day! They're never going to get bored playing outside, they're probably bored when they are inside. And they have some games in the bus and their own space + a living room where they can play. That's more than enough for them. By the time they get older to need privacy they may not be on the road anymore, or their parents will find another solution

I have considered down sizing but to give up the ability to live off the grid on 5 acres is so much smarter than a bus. Losing all that food animals and a garden provide is a big hit on a budget. I am a grandfather now and I drove a semi truck for years so seeing more pavement parking lots does not appeal to me anymore. I own a one acre lot on the golf course so I have about 4 times what everyone else does but I still want to get back to what they gave up. Good luck to you guys! I hope you really enjoy your endeavors and are successful in your goals!

I love watching videos where it's obvious that said individuals think.......basically use their mind in ways that reveal that they are thinking about specifics vs just rambling. This bus conversion video was definitely interesting to watch, especially since they went from living in a farm environment and down sizing in ways that still allow them to remain/live the same way that they once use to. It's always refreshing to encounter minds as such, as there's no struggle to see their vision or "understand". I've always thought that having a bath allowed you to save space and made more sense, but I wanted to see who would actually incorporate that into their build. Cheers to your adventures.

FYI: If law enforcement does a safety inspection of your bus, the seatbelts screwed into the wood will not pass inspection. They have to be attacked to the floor. Love the layout. Good job. 👍

Salon needs to go, it's not necessary alot of places you can rent out a chair at a salon, she should do that perfect for travelling different places too..it's bigger than the kids room, must be a pain to bath too..

I think you turned your bus into a beautiful home! You have everything in there that makes it functional, safe, and lovely. Kudos to you guys. We were homeschoolers back when it was illegal, yes we're that old. The only teacher's curriculum sold could only be bought by "real" teachers. I think the bus is an advantage because you will see so many areas of the country and get more of a feel for the different needs, styles, history and ethnicities than most families. My husband was in the military so we did travel but certainly not as free as you are doing. Best wishes to you and your family. I do wish were able to meet the kids.

Maybe use some magnetic strips to hold spices, spoons, knives? That might give extra storage.

idk why people are mad about the salon and space for the children because a) you need to have an income and shouldn’t give up your passion because of this lifestyle and b) the kids aren’t that big so by the time they’re back living in a normal home the space issue won’t matter. and sleeping on the bathtub doesn’t look that bad, and it’s a good use of space. with this kind of lifestyle, there are things that just have to be inconvenient and you have to make sacrifices. I’m pretty sure they also consulted their kids before doing this and took them into consideration. anyway I love this bus, you guys did a great job on it

I think this is one of the nicest schoolers I have ever seen. I especially love, love, love the wood stove. We had a 3 level split home and heated the entire place with a hearth stone wood stove for 30 years. Hearthstone was our second and is still going strong, but I am down-sizing and selling. I will be putting in a wood stove here some day.

So contemporary, yet clean and homey. The salon is fantastic! I am not sure how you get clients, paying clients, but I'm sure you worked it out! Beautiful job! I'm from Minnesota and am totally jelly your able to do it. At 57 years old, unmarried, well.. there's no way I would do it alone. To do homeschooling is just freeing and allowed this venture. What a nice, adorable couple! I wish I knew how you were able to afford this lifestyle. I may have missed that part in the beginning, I'll re-listen. Thanks for your review and keeping it interesting! Haha, your so organized you feature the rooms with the time slots! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Awesome! This life experience for your family wil be with y'all for life. As a child my parents also travelled and worked, not as nice as y'alls bus but those were very happy times with my family when the 5th one (my baby sister) came along my dad built a house. People might see it as difficult but it was an adventure and if it was ever difficult we have no memory of it, just the joy of being together. That was a long time ago, im a grandma now, im glad I had that experience.
