🙋♀️❓I love, love your work, and those doors need to be marketed to other small applications, such as rv's! Brilliant! I have to say that If you lived in my area I would def ask you to be my mentor/teacher of woodworking! I'm a 60 yr old women, empty nester w/o a partner. I'm in the process of downsizing/relocating and I don't want to hire one person to do the complete build. Instead, I would love to be a part of it, if I could find someone who would be willing to teach me. I'm more of a hands on person! For me, it would make life easier to have another beside me to guide me! Oh dear, that was beginning to sound like the song, "let's dance" ! Anyway, I'm fascinated with your work! Did you do all your own plumbing/electrical also❓ Any advice you have, I'd love to hear it. TY

We need laws across the US that allow more of these smaller homes to be built (without permitting freakouts). It is critical for single people, young people, and older people who not only do not need a large space, but also cannot afford a large SFH.
@chezmoi424 жыл бұрын
Fortunately, Seattle (and I suppose Tacoma) has adjusted its zoning laws to allow accessory dwelling units ('ADU') as infill in formerly single family neighborhoods, many of which occupy very large lots. She's really starting her business at the best moment. I hope it will spread across the US; so many people are being priced out of the market, be it for owning or renting. These are things we all need to demand of our local elected officials - it could go a long way toward solving our housing crisis.

We have acreage but I don't think our city's ordinances would allow it on our property. 🤔 I would so love to have this as it's my dream to have a wellness business tiny home and escape during our cold winters. I just need to convince my hubby and get his job(s) on board too. I'd love to know what the building plans would cost. Obviously she used reclaimed materials so it was more affordable than buying materials outright. I'd like to know what's needed (costs, permits, etc.) when traveling/ transporting it. Any ideas? I didn't see it, but there'd likely need to strong drawer closures (magnetic perhaps) so things didn't shimmy all around.

I know this ISN'T abt personalities but I just wanted to say thank you to the lovely finish carpenter (one of my boys is a finish carpenter too...a "wood artist")..But I just had to share...this lady's warm, fun and spritly manner is so much like a best friend I had for a while. She passed very early in life from asthma and I miss her and think of her often! Don't want to bring you down ...but she was one of "those folks" you never forget...a superb human being! Thanks for taking me back...I am old now but, fresh as a can 'o Spam! I love tiny homes but oldies often have bad knees so, a downstairs bedrm is a welcome solution. Loved the open, airey feel of the glass and pocket doors, ...(mirrors help expand space too!). Think abt creating for older folks and specialize...I never see anyone thinking about their issues or their old knees! (Esp. in high retirement areas where space, and money issues abide and tiny homes would be a welcome solution). All the best.

This house is neat because she came up with so many clever ideas, like having the shower knob on the ceiling, the pocket doors that allow you to close off the bathroom and master bedroom in different ways for privacy, and the closet system was very cool. If she's going to build tiny homes professionally, I feel that closet system will be in high demand. I like the fact their bed is on the main level, not so sure I'd like that ladder/pantry combo. I can imagine a guest placing their foot incorrectly on top of a bottle and then falling. Don't like the sink is so small, I would need a little bit bigger. Love the idea of heated floors and the bar window. Interesting quirk with having so many doors to the outside. But overall very unique home!

She's taken this to a new level that I can appreciate. I live in a tiny apartment (they said 340 sq ft, I think they over estimated it by 70 sq ft based on my calculations -- used to work in the construction industry so...)) so I am fine living tiny and would like to build or have a tiny home built but one of the barriers for me is the width. My living room is 8'6" x 8' 6" and it's worthless. My bedroom is even more narrow because of the closet at 7' 5" (11' long) so fitting anything bigger than a twin for the bed feels cramped. Having that extra width for a home if you don't plan to move it a lot seems like it would be a better option for many people. Plus, her creative use of doors in the bathroom and the closet space on the sides of the bed are pretty genius. I'm not a fan of loft spaces and at 52 years old, while I am active and don't feel my age, I just don't feel like a loft bedroom is suitable for many reasons. This is a great home and has inspired me even more. Thanks for this video!

The BEST Tiny House that I have seen yet; congratulations. Since I was a young teen I have (and even today) design houses. It is only for me to see what I am able to create and it helps me as a meditation. I have designed the second floor of my lake side home; which was a great feeling to see something I thought of come to life. The only other thing I have built on my own is a shed 4x8x12 ft. It was to store my kids bikes but soon became a tool shed. This past fall (with some help from my 11 year old granddaughter) I built a wood shed 8x16 with a slop roof 8 to 12 ft. This summer I was going to build another one behind it and join the two to make a good size wood/work shop. But plans were put on hold as I needed my right rotator cuff repaired. When it is healed the left will be done as I tore it working on the woodshed. I look forward to seeing more of your Tiny House Designs. Stay SAFE and Blessings

Love, love, love the heated floors. Wish I had heated floors in my apartment. Real creative doors for the restroom area, nifty.

it is amazing when you have the skill and could build anything you imagined! As such this tiny is so custom and every 'gadget' is cleverly designed and optimized.

Traci is amazing. I am in awe of how she created so many things in her tiny home. Such as the doors for the bathroom and bedroom to start with. She saved her and her husband major bucks and created a awesome home.❤

Triple slide pocket doors should be mandatory going forward. Great job
