This book is a comprehensive guide for anyone who wants to create various types of garden buildings. The book provides clear and detailed instructions with numerous photos. kzbin.infoUgkxBE-xSmFU7PIaMFUmmhnFxE035s5svtxeAs a novice, I appreciated the book's step-by-step approach to the basics of building. The book also appeals to the more advanced DIY enthusiast with projects ranging from simple to complex. The book is up to date with the latest trends, such as solar panels, green roofs, and sweet chestnut shakes. The book has inspired me to pursue more projects in the future.

What I love about people in this generation is that they are completely shattering traditional ways of life. This is what happens when you are allowed to paint outside the box at a young age. We now see that anything and everything is possible. I am not a jealous person, but I can admit I'm happily jealous of Sarah and Brandon's living arrangement. That being said, a win for one is a win for all! Bravo to you both. Thank you for the inspiration to all of us viewers :)

Well, actually it's not a generational thing at all. It just appears as if these things are more prevalent today due to social media and all the DIY TV shows out there. In fact, all the great ideas for solar and wind powered homes and off grid living in general actually fist came about in the 1970’s. And floating homes on both lakes and oceans have been around for a very long time indeed. There were also plenty of people living in vans way back when and the only difference between then and now is that back then you could not start a KZbin channel about your life in a van and make a lot of money off it. The bottom line is that while people have actually been doing stuff like this forever, it is only in the past 20 years or so that we have been exposed to their lives through social media and the like.

1 dollar a gallon and you pump out 300 gallons a week = 300 dollars a week thats 1200 dollars a month that you just pushed over to the average tax payers a living expanse they should be taking themself based on their own choices of living on a floating home .. Yes must be nice to just push your living cost over to some other ppl. taxes..

I just love it, and appreciate your sharing it with us. I do recall meeting you and touring touring the first smaller fliating home. And yes, LOL, I remember seeing what a tight fit your bedroom mattress was! LOL... GOD bless you both, and I look forward to watching you again some day❤❤ You young folks give me hope for our future generations❤

What a beautiful home! I don’t think I would be able to leave it if I lived there. There isn’t a single thing I would change which is something to say. It’s not unusual for me to comment on a house and then add a “but” in there. I guess I could say I would add at least one more solar panel. Maybe 2 to help reduce the draw from the washer. But it’s not necessary…such a peaceful place and the chairs out front would definitely be a favorite spot. Love hanging chairs! You both did an excellent job. One last thing-LOVE that copper sink! That is amazing. God bless their home!

A few questions, I hope you see this. 1. Do you pay any kind of slip fee for tieing to shore as you do? 2. You mentioned you have a city water supply. How do you attach to that? 3. Are you able to be where you are because of your jobs, or can anybody do just what you are doing on that lake? 4. Will you share the total cost of your build please?

About 5/6 years ago I spent Labor Day weekend on in a friend's houseboat on Fontana with my cousin, her husband, the friend who owns it, and his significant other. We had a blast! This house is next to what I understand is the only year round resident. I won't mention his name. Apparently, the tradition was for the crew I was with to take an evening to hang with said resident and bring shrimp, drinks, etc. He certainly is a character. Was such an interesting and fun evening.

Your channel is beautiful because you do your work from the heart and it is felt immediately from the first minutes of each video! All your new stories inspire something new and limitless in your life, and the examples of these people with their houses show that everyone can make childhood dreams a reality! Usually it's not that difficult, but the main thing is that the desire is as strong as a dream in your heart and mind, which can become a reality and inspire many others in the KZbin community! I sincerely thank the author of the channel and the people with big hearts who are not ashamed to dream no matter what, and inspire such a large number of people. I am sure that this video also moved someone and made it possible to feel alive again at full strength and to breathe a mouthful of dreams into your heart closed by the worries of everyday life! We also realize our childhood dreams by building miniature houses, and this gives us incredible delight and joy in our hearts and enormous variety in our adult and seemingly gray life, breathing so many colors into it! Thank you all for the wonderful! DIY!))

I would love this, but wouldn’t do it until my toddlers grew up & could swim. I would love to hear their plan when a storm is a brewing. Do they secure their house with extra moorings and then leave and go to some shelter somewhere? Just curious?
@KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses4 ай бұрын
Our house is always secured significantly more robustly than need be. Can’t always predict when storms will come, or if we will be home when they do, so we moor our house in such a way that it is storm-ready at all times. We feel FAR safer here than we did on land during storms. 🙌 Usually when it storms bad around here, everyone on land is left without power for days, trees crash down on people’s houses, there’s flash flooding & foundations get washed away, wildfires, etc 😣 super thankful we can rest easy knowing we’re safe from all those threats!
