Erik, I think you made a very wise decision to present as completely as you can the limitations of the Ultra. The unit provides so much value for the money that its shortcomings are quite inconsequential. However, to make good use of all the capabilities of the Ultra one must know exactly what those shortcomings are in order to work around them. That then makes the Ultra that much more valuable.

I just purchased the Tinysa Ultra. It is very nice. I was wondering if you will eventually add a tracking generator.

No plans to add a TG. But there is an LO output usable for building your own TG as long as you use large RBW

NanoVNA does exactly that, even with phase angle ;-)

Hi Eirk, I really enjoy both my tinySA & tinySA Ultra. They are very powerful instruments in a small package. Are there any plans to make a tinySA Ultra in the same form factor as the SV4401A? That is a 7 inch display, N connectors and a metal case. I would definitely buy one!

Has the TinySA Ultra a faster scan mode at reduced resolution? I am mainly interested in Bio-EMC, for checking with a small directional antenna in which RF band a device under test emits. So it would be useful to have a quick check mode to see the coarse range of an emission (is it few MHz, 100 MHz or GHz), before scanning slower to identify in detail individual frequencies. Cheapish broadband "EMF" level meters don't show what they actually detect, and because pulsed microwaves do harm at much lower intensities than some shortwave stuff, they are fairly pointless if the type of signal is unknown. A spectrum analyzer is more meaningful.

This is a very interesting question, can I ask you to ask it in the tinySA support group at: groups.io/g/tinysa There are probably multiple persons there with experience in fast scanning

@@ErikKaashoek At the moment I haven't bought the TinySA Ultra yet. But AFAIK in its price range the only similar device "SA6" appears otherwise questionable (a clone of unknown origin). Handheld Aaronia Spectran did "fast" scanning, but early ones (V2?) likely cheated a bit and their newer models are already much more expensive.

Hi Erik, It's really good device for this price! I already bouth 2 items. Is It possible "to flat" noise level afte 5Ghz and remove this step after 5.3G? Do you plane improve it? Can I do it my self somehow?
@ErikKaashoek Жыл бұрын
Extensive HW and SW changes are required to remove the step at 5.3GHz. Maybe something I will do in the future, but its a rather complex change.

@Erik Kaashoek Thanks for answer! Is it not enough to replace ADF 4350 to ADF4355 VCO?
