Here in Nor Cal almost any town that has a city sewer system is infested with the big black cockroaches (sewer bugs) They will get in garages via small openings in the door at the base when closed. I use rat and mouse glue traps on each corner that catches any bug that comes through. It has stopped the Sewer bugs, black widows, wolf spiders just to name a few. (Obviously, if you have pets may not be a good idea.)
