I have read all the comments. I agree with some disagree with others. I personally don't like tipping at Lidl or Aldi. When delivering produce they want tomatoes in lane 35, potatoes lane 23, lettuce lane 17, Avocados lane 28 a lane for each. Bloody nuisance. I hate the place each and every R.D.C. they have an attitude problem toward supply drivers. Also be warned dear truckers don't put your tacho on rest when tipping. V.O.S.A (gestapo) was in Lidl Livingston one morning checking the mode rest or other work 😮.

Never seen the DVSA outside of the Exeter RDC.Glad to hear they had you in and out in no time but it's a different story for us loading.Long waits due to a lack of pickers who decide to turn up and checks done on our loads which often turn out to be incorrect so they go by what the drivers figures are i.e pallets of fv,bread,chill,and ambient.Another thing you don't want to do in Exeter RDC is park where you are because it blocks off the add blue and red diesel tanks for the hauliers.Thanks.

I like lidl, usually no waiting around to be tipped, your not in a queue waiting for a surly fork truck driver to be arsed to tip you. Its all indoors, your dry, the truck is electric, you tip yourself in an hour, then wait for your paperwork. I am usually booked in for 06.00 but turn up at 5, its quieter then.

If i think i can get away with it by the time the forks come out theres 4 pallets on the floor and some sweating but keen idiot stood next to them with a clipboard and a pen .

Hi Pete question for your q and a. Hotels would it not be nice if the cx could get a deal with some hotels where courier drivers could get rooms for the night may be a max of £40 per night giving them a basic room single bed and hot shower as long the room is warm and you get a good sleep you don't need anything else may be couriers book through the app premier inn travel lodge days inn etc making conditions better for drivers and affordable think you could put this to the cx they may listen to u all the best bud. all rdc's should be self tip only its the way forward and its a win for rdc and win for driver because the only person a driver can blame for a delay tipping at an rdc self tip is themselves

You forgot to mention about splitting pallets for products
@PetetheCourierDriver2 жыл бұрын
I've only ever done it once and I've never had to split pallets. What does that entail?
@neiltoner90562 жыл бұрын
@@PetetheCourierDriver if you get pallets with 2 or more products on the pallet , lidl will make you built the products into different pallets so if speaking you have 2 products on 1 pallet, it will become 2 pallets of the same products.

Do you not think that you work hard enough already without having too tip yourself what happens if you get injured when unloading who is responsible for you then having done long distance trucking for many, many years I always asked for there insurance policy and they have too show you by law I have never tipped myself at any R.D.C. in the UK or Europe plus I have never handed my keys over to any goods in clerk yes they create till I point out the achilles heel too them 1 they are not employed by my company so check your insurance policy and it does state clearly only employees of the company are allowed to hold the keys to the vehicle no law has ever been passed to say that a driver MUST hand over the keys to their vehicle plus just refuse to move of the bay till you are tipped they will soon tip you because if you injure yourself on their equipment they will move the blame too you and say it was your fault I am just glad that I am out of the game now sitting back and enjoying my retirement no more early starts and no more ungrateful warehouse people drivers should not tip themselves at any price.

It's quite easy unloading at Lidl.All the ppt's are electric and you basically have to do a little bit of walking.Driving trucks is stressful at times but I wouldn't say it was physically hard.I guess the upside of tipping yourself is that you are in and out a lot quicker.
