I worked at a C&S perishables warehouse for almost 2 years and a lot of time on a team. It was about 50% boxes and the other half hard stuff to stack. You are doing great! Try touching your boxes less. Place it and be done. When stacking also try to make sure each layer is in the apposite direction of the last. Like shift the boxes 90 degrees on the next layer. Lastly always make sure your larger boxes are on the outside when you can. You will pick a hell of a lot faster and your stacking will be stronger. 😁👍

I worked warehouse for 7 years, learned how to operate every single forklift. I worked a job just like this for one week, quit it asap because I couldn’t stand talking to a robot at 4am and it not understanding me, probably the most infuriating experience 😂 i do commercial CDL driving now, don’t regret the Jobs or experience, met a lot of good people. The only thing I would say is use this as a stepping stone to get to where you need to go, while going to school or learning a trade skill, unless you wanna end up 50 yrs old complacent doing something that a 18 year person can do with little experience and the same pay. As you can tell the person in the video has a good attitude which is important, get your paper to support yourself and family, then get your skills up on the side to get to the next chapter of your life. I worked 2 + years in Dollar General as an order selector on both cooler and freezer, and I liked it since it was a straight forward job but left after my fingers and toes started to feel numb even after I was at home. We had boots and gloves for frozen temperatures but that doesn't matter once you start sweating! My fingers and toes were always numb at work, you had to work very fast in order to stay warm and stop your body to cool down. It is definitely not a job you want to do for many years, but this video brings good memories. One of the hardest jobs out there in terms of physicality.

Worked in all 3 department, dry, cooler and frozen and got .25 cents more for working in the freezer. Was very good at my job. The place closed down a few years ago after being bought out a few times. Lost count how many times someone would put a 6-10 case of product like peaches on top of chips. In 04 when I left, I was making 12.50/hr working Sun-Thurs with every other Friday with a skeleton crew. Would start at about 8PM and get done at midnight during the summer and sometimes not done until 7 am during school year. Would also get a picking bonus which amounted to about $100 a week. Still got one of my picking bonus sheets in my back room.

All of the companies that deliver food case by case out the back of a big rig are brutal with errors. One wrong case usually costs more money than you were paid for your whole shift. So yeah they will take all of your incentive money for even one error.

I tried to get into this place. They make you go through a type of boot camp. To make sure they're not going to have to pay out the ass for insurance claims. I can run all day that was no problem, but we were in the training seasonal warehouse and there was absolutely zero air flow. Would have been absolutely fine if they stuck me in the freezer warehouse though. Hats off to whoever works at these places because they went through a lot of bullshit

You got all that correct except the pay. Pickers make insane money due to incentive. I worked at a warehouse for a few months years ago and our top picker brought home over 6 figures. Guy was a beast

I used to work in the San Marcos location, it was hell working around 130 other selectors all on the floor at the same time getting in each others way. And every other week you had about 20 brand new guys out there because nobody wanted to stick it out. I would never go back to working in that kind of environment.

My opinion is that Jungheinrich is the best brand for internal logistics. it has the best performance, good battery life (with 1 full charge you can work 2 shifts.) It's not very important, but all the vehicles just look good.

I worked there for 3 weeks & they would give “pep-talks” saying that the reason the H‑E‑B stores are low on stock is because the order selectors “did not meet their requirements” & they make you work even harder than it is, you have aggressive & hostile forklift operators blocking the way. On my first day, my “trainer” (or the guy watching my numbers, he looked like Travis Scott) came up to me & said “why have I been taking too long” I told him simply “uh it’s my first day?” & he replied “give me a better excuse than that” WTF? I quit cause some dude wasn’t paying attention, looking at his Apple Watch & driving really fast. I honked before turning a corner slowly & this guy appeared out of nowhere & we collided. I ended up cutting my knee & I reported it cause they threaten to fire you if you don’t report an accident. They sent both of us to do a drug test & the guy was waiting for me at the parking lot trying to fight me. Hostile work environment in general. Then they have these stupid “pep-talks” how the order selectors need to pick up the pace because they are “the reason” the H‑E‑B stores are low in stock, oh but when you order curbside pickup, they be giving you a BUNCH of free groceries you didn’t even ask for while also forgetting half of your order. H‑E‑B is a messy company owned by hostile people who do not care for their workers. You literally have to kiss ass to get to the top.
