Greetings from the US. Just ordered one with AL forestock. Appleseed version. I have a M&P 22 but think this is a much superior alternative. Shot Rifleman with Ruger 10/22 but looking forward to same with this platform.

Hello, Dave thanks for watching. Yes the semi .22 market is a big debate here in the UK as many state they have the best rifle for this and that. But it comes down to what you like! Regards GRTV

Went in to shooting supplies in Bromsgrove yesterday as I’m considering buying the M & P .22lr but having held both the Tippmann and the Smith and Wesson, there really isn’t a comparison to be made, the features, weight and feel of the Tippmann puts in leagues ahead of the M & P, can not stress how superior the Tippmann feels. The only reason to buy the M & P is the cost.

Awesome! I hadn't even realised Tippman did 22LR beyond the PB version I've used for a couple years. I'd considered getting my first 22LR and the Sig 522, but I don't think I can resist opting for the Elite-S instead now, as every review I've found raves about them
@morrius07572 жыл бұрын
Tippmann's are great 22s, you have to clean them often but that's just the nature of the beast when it comes to 22s of this design, it's the same with the S&W MP15-22. But Tippmann's is an all metal construction and is just build to a higher quality.

All those interested in buying a Tippmann M4-22 should join the Facebook group "Tippmann Arms M4-22 Owners club (22LR)" over there you can see what current owners think about the rifle and ask any question. If you own one already, no excuses not to join!

UK gun laws. Piles of paperwork, home inspections, kissing the police chief's ass to get permit to buy a gun and ammo. Suppressors(uk calls them moderators are actually easier to get one there than in US. Moderators are encouraged because you want to be polite and courteous to your neighbors and not disturb them with the noise of the gun blast.

How do the .22LR ballistics compare between the standard barrel length and the short version?
@Gunroomtv5 жыл бұрын
Ballistically there shouldn't be any difference between the barrels. This is true for many .22lr rifles. If you plan to go competitive then you wouldn't use a semi-auto for accuracy or group size. These rifles are for practical shooting, really were group size is not the issue.

Nice considering one of these or a s&w 15-22 pc. The all metal is pulling me toward it and the bolt catch. But would like to see the test results is there any update on them?
@Gunroomtv6 жыл бұрын
We feel the Smith is an all round better gun, the Tippmann is a great plinker but the 15-22 is better for competition. The Tippman does feel closer to a full AR15.

I like the real looking magazine of the Tippmann compared to the goofy looking one of the MP1522. And the dust cover and forward assist.

@@Gunroomtv So this is a weird statement. The only advantage the 15-22 would have is that it is lighter. I am curious how you find it to be an all around better gun?

Greg not only is it light but it has proven reliability in competition and many aftermarket upgrade / accessories available for it.

I never heard it called two two before. I do like Barry's rifle set up, but sadly that would be considered a short barrel rifle (SBR) and there is a lot of paperwork, and money to get that, if your state even allows it.

Yeah here in England this is absolutely fine without any additional paperwork. As long as the gun is overall over 60cm long it’s all good.

Is there any truth to the .22(maybe just the slug) being almost the same as a .223? Someone told me its just a oversized .22 with more juice and a bigger casing... also whats the diff between rimfire and long rifle .22? Can anyone un-retard me without getting to wordy? (Edit detard is what I shoulda said, please detard me)
@ApurtureSci3 жыл бұрын
I'll try! .22 Rimfire is a family of small cartridges that includes .22 Short, .22 Long Rifle and .22 WMR among others. They are all fairly low-powered, the .22 WMR (magnum) being the most powerful. 22 Long Rifle is the most common and possibly the most abundant type of ammunition globally, it's about an inch long and in standard form shoots a 40 grain bullet (weight) at between 1000 and 1250 feet per second from a rifle. The .223 basically shares nothing in common other than the actual projectile diameter. This means that the hole in the gun's barrel is the same, but the .223 projectiles are much longer, heavier, and of different construction. These bullets weigh in the 50 to 80 grain range typically, so a bit heavier, but the big difference is speed. The larger case means the .223 has a considerably more substantial powder charge and can propel a 55 grain bullet at 3300 feet per second from a rifle. Because velocity is a bigger contributor than weight to a bullet's energy, the .223 produces roughly 10x the energy of a .22LR. Keep in mind that the .223 isn't an especially powerful cartridge either!
