Hello, A330 Driver! As a teenage MSFS pilot, i have learned a lot throughout aviation from your tutorials! However, i was wondering if you could do a tutorial about explaining LNAV and VNAV and how its used on the A320 if that's fine. Thank you, and keep flying!

Very nice short video. I wonder if you could make a video on what to consider for the A320 setup when one wants to practice touch and goes. Isn't there a training normally after you've done your type-rating, before you enter line operations, where you have to fly several touch and goes on the real airplane after previous simulator training? It would be nice to have a tutorial (maybe also emphasis on the pattern work itself)

hey, about atc...., when do you usually get the ifr clearance? On vatsim, I personally do it when i have my flight plan set on the fmc and the cockpit prep checklist done....

How about the landing distance calculation? I guess visual swingover won't be given at the airports where two parallel runways are differ in length. Right? Atleast, not to be swinged from longer to shorter? 😅

I think so, but I also think these procedures are generally in use at parallell runways designed for both takeoff and landing so they would all be long enough. Also it's probable that companies calculate performance for both runways, but I don't know that for sure.

Most airports don’t offer visual swingovers at all, this is pretty much a Frankfurt thing.

Why would ATC not just assign aircraft onto a 25C ILS approach from the beginning? If 25C is the preferred runway, would they not just vector all aircraft onto that approach and then any others that can't fit in there, use 25L as an overflow runway, or at least divide them 50/50 to space everyone out evenly? I don't really understand the need for the swing over except in quite rare circumstances.

25C is one of the two departure runways. At the time an approach is assigned, ATC can not know if there might be an airplane taking off at the time you are landing. Therefore, 25L is used for arrivals and 25C for departures. Swingovers will only be given, when you do not interrupt the departure sequence with them. That's a decision only the tower controllers can take on a short notice.

Hi, that's not possible. The approach towards 25 is over forest while the approach to 07 goes over Mainz and Rüsselsheim, which are noise sensitive areas.

Just like normal, only that you make sure it remains in go around track mode, or if your plane is equipped with auto LNAV, you pull heading.

If landing on the 25C saves so much time and is generally a good idea, why ATC does not offer this runway by default? I mean, it would be easier if you prepared for this in advance and established on final from the beginning instead of doing this maneuver.

Because 25C is one of the departure runways and the swing is only offered when it either does not interrupt the departure flow or it might even help it (dependency between 25L and 25C). In addition to that the visual swing is only allowed after passing 7nm final (2500ft AMSL) due to noise reasons on final runway 25C. = you are not allowed so swing someone before reaching 7nm final.
