Another great video! I've been following you for a few years, and love your format, so cool to watch you grow just using the money from the business. Funny story to go along with the tip about selling the staging. I became good friends with a couple doing art and craft shows, we got to where we would request to be beside one another whenever we could. They made water fountains from galvanized tubs. Well, one show, he staged them with these rubber frogs that belonged to his wife, and she loved them. A potential customer loved the cute little frogs, and wanted to buy a fountain, but only if the frog was included, and wouldn't budge. Of course his wife said absolutely not, those were special to her, and the lady could buy some online. They lost the sale, and the couple argued and bickered all weekend about the frogs. And that was the last time the frogs made an appearance at one of their shows 🤣😂🤣. Moral of the story...don't stage with something you won't part with lol.

Hals Wood Shop. Very Good Tips for Crafters. Lets add from my selling. 1. On the business card, jot down what they looked at on the back when they take it or they will forget, and like you said get their info. 2. Dress Business Casual--sport shirt or Simple shirt or a theme, not a sports team or another logo shirt they already get advertising. don't look like you just came from cutting the grass. 3. Its hard to act interested when things get slow, greet them but don't over talk. You do it with ease as a teacher but you cannot sit there and read the paper like they want your product. 4. Kiss of Death Sentence.." That's Nice" means they will look at the item but not buy it. 5. You cannot Predict Sales....one day high, another day low. 6. Have a partner to cover if you want to go the the Restroom but guard your cash box. 7. Make a cash box and receipts...receipts have your name on them..also it records for taxes. Oh No Taxes..

Great ideas. Yes, definitely leave a spot on the clipboard for notes as to what they were interested in. I probably could have greeted more people than I did.

"They took a business card but never called back". Been there a hundred times! Craft shows are for the "impulse buyers", Once they're gone, they are history, so I don't spend any money on cards. I make my own using card stock. They all end up in the landfill anyway... Great tips, great video.

have to disagree, not that it's a huge return, but I had 4 customers contact me from just my fall craft fairs last year. Which more than covered the cost of a nice business card.

Unfortunately, I'm far from a tour. I'm currently reorganizing everything, including moving my miter saw to the opposite side of the shop and building some cabinets to house an official station. Now I'm moving it again for better dust collection. One day I'll get there...one day.

RE: Business card. Even better, make a little display with your contact info and have then take a photo of it. Business cards get thrown away, but you have to be very organized to go through the photos on your phone and delete the ones you don't want.

Another tip for you: pick an item for a giveaway. To enter in the giveaway is free but they have to give you name and email and maybe some feedback on your items :) you'll get lots of leads that you can advertise to later and maybe some good feedback for the next time ;)

@@makemoneywoodworking more people will be willing to give you their info if they have a chance to get something in return vs just giving you the info just because. You'll get both kinds of people tho. Some people will want to give you their info for the future but not join the draft which is ok too. What I'm saying is you'll want to do both but you will get more names with the raffle
@makemoneywoodworking
@makemoneywoodworking 2 жыл бұрын
I agree. Maybe my previous comment wasn't clear. I suppose, having raffle tickets in a jar gives people an old fashioned sense of satisfaction in getting their names pulled.

When you place items like on a table. Do you mix prices up by grouping similar items? Do you set up cheapest to more expensive? Or do you just place things random? Great video. Thank you for sharing.
