Tips and Tricks for Inletting the Patch Box on a Golden Age Flintlock Muzzle Loader

With our patchbox lid formed, it's time to finish the inletting for the rest of our patchbox hardware. Most of this video covers inletting the fins or side plates of the patch box. There is a lot of detail in these parts, inletting them takes time and patience.
In the video I show you how to fix the level of your inlet with a simple piece of paper.
I've made all of these patchbox parts from standard sheet brass. None of these patchbox parts are casts or purchased. I've made them based on an original by Isaac Haines. To see how I've formed the domed patchbox, check out the video on my channel.

Why weaken the stalk? Do you ever use a patch box?

Do you have a video on how you made the top of that patch box with the silver daisy? Are they silver soldered together with a piece on the bottom to hold together?

I don't have a video on that part, but you are correct, they are soldered from the bottom.
