Alright so I'm a woman. How you explain on how to and tips, makes a lot of good sense. It's like me painting nail polish on my nails lol soft and gentle and dip out the big chuck of excess of nail polish paint before painting your finger nails. Wells! Imma touch up my Lexus now !!!! Thank You!!!

I got a big chip on my right fender. I used this method. Now if you don't know it's there you won't see it. It came out pretty good

I’ve just ordered this pen for my car to cover up minor chips thank you for this video coz I would have just went in full with that pen end 😂 to add for the lols I used sharpie for the meantime until the black paint repair comes in

Actually you can get perfect result if you put more time and effort on it. 1-First you should clean the surface from dirt/grease, then dry it. 2-Remove the rusty surface by the rough tip of the touchup paint.(or sanding) 3-Apply touch up paint on multiple layers as needed (make it even with rest of the body paint) and wait until it dries. 4-Smooth sanding (2000,3000,5000) 5-Apply clear coat, if it's humpy/bumpy, repeat step 4 6-Polish the spot

A business card works really well to apply clear without it getting lumpy (just drag it flat over the area in question). You'll need to wet sand still, but it's much easier to get a very good result. Using a dabber is also a great way to get a small amount of clear in a hard to apply spot.

I think you just answered your own question? I think it turns grey because you sanded it, just like any paint or clear will change color until you either polish it or clear coat it .

I ended up taking the paint out of the pen and air brushing it. It was easier to wet sand and polish. ( no bumps).

You can also go to a automotive paint store and have them put base coat in a aerosol rattle can, and as a bonus they can actually match your paint.

It will work for big scratches .......it becomes a little difficult when the scratch is deep though. I got a deep scratch on my 2018 tacoma tailgate. So i got the color match magnetic grey duplicolor pen and its not perfect but at least it blends in more. I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome. Just read the directions and take your time.

Any tips for removing the clear coat? It looked alright until I applied some of the clear coat. I didn't like how it looked and tried to wipe it off, now it looks terrible.
