This build's bound to be good, DAMN!!! must be! Actually, it is the second time this channel has made me open up my xj. Based on many, MANY videos from the past I had made my xj, and i was quite happy for a while and then again, new videos, new ideas and then this build...and it made me to start some rather serious work on my jeep again. Im currently working on some body strenghteners and just like Matt says in the video when working on the 4link brackets. It is just days and days of labour, cutting and welding, grinding and rewelding, drilling and redrilling because out of 10 holes there is that bloody one that never matches. Well..if this is not the time to become a patreon then it will never be! THanks again for a great up. Martin
@bleepinjeep6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Martin! I'm about to release about 20 videos on patreon for early access of completing this build! Time to make time for binge watching!

Don't skip too much fabrication Matt. You know that's what a lot of us love to see. As for a ground up build. If you decide to do that, I would suggest starting with a smaller buggy project, a little two seater. Great video dude, love watching this little monster come together.

Tom S ya a small two seater like what Red Beard is building but ad an ls 6.0l. 😀

I am super impressed with those 4-link brackets you made. All the work is beautiful, but I'm really loving those brackets, great job! I Love your channel, I've been watching for years now. I only found your channel because of the fuse/relay box video, I was doing some wiring on a work truck. I enjoyed your channel so much I went and bought a Cherokee. I have learned so much from you over the years I feel like you're helping me build my Jeep. Keep up the great work, I recommend your Channel to everybody.

Great explanation on the stingers Matt.
@lavachemist6 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure how applicable this is, but when I took a bicycle frame building class we were taught to do our tacks on the obtuse angle (the angle that is larger than 90 degrees) first. My understanding is that welding on acute side of the angle will pull the pieces together at a tighter angle, so welding on the obtuse side first will help you maintain the desired angle of your notched tubes. Hopefully that makes sense.

For your next crazy build idea they have those Rockcrawler frame kits just to be welded together everything is measured out for you with a 4 BT twin turbo would make an awesome combination?

I asked what stingers were for, on you facebook, feeling just a bit dumb; and, some guy answered they were for tearing foliage out of your way; when, your wheelin. Nobody challenged him. After hearing your explanation, now I don't feel so stupid for asking. I'll bet at least 95% of your viewers didn't know that. Thanks for finally explaining that. BTW, if you haven't already, check out BleepinJeep's Facebook page, he's got bonus pictures and video on there.

If you cut your second curve first, then moved the pipe up enough to cut a whole circle then you would have one spacer complete and half off your second one done. Without having to use the extender. Just my idea, I'm not a fabricator or welder, just a fan of your channel.

Why not measure a length of pipe that is the length of x number of pipes +3" and make your 1st cut, then move the pipe down and make your 2nd cut (which also gives you your 3rd cut) and so on and then you will only be left with a short length of pipe to discard or use somewhere else were you only need a notch on one end?
@traemiller55236 жыл бұрын
Will Morton ....I totally agree !!!!!
@allenmckinney95336 жыл бұрын
Will Morton I was thinking the same but it was a good demo for that tool if someone just needed that one piece cut.

It's hard on the blade to cut through both sides at the same time, plus most blades aren't long enough to go all the way through which complicates things

To make the little notched tubes: couldn't you notch a long tube then, movie it down the vice and notch a hole in the middle of the tube so that the small notched tube falls off the long piece

Hey Matt if you ever need a paint job let me know but if not right now is when you should paint that bad boy look great by the way very nice work dude I can't stop watching your videos binge-watching Matt from bleepinjeep😎😎

Love fabrication videos. I just think some viewers that are still learning would appreciate more explanations on the measurements/math of building something. For example, you can't just build a rear frame out of tubing, it has to be at the correct placement to allow for axle articulation.

Formula for cut lines to make fabricated turns in tubing or pipe,,,,,,, number of degrees of turn divided by number of weldsX2..Exmple being,,you want to make a 90degree turn using 2 pieces of tube. So 90 degrees divided by(the one weld needed multiplied by 2) is 90 divided by 2 which equals 45 and that's your degrees of cut on each piece of pipe,,,,,or! 1 piece of pipe cut on that angle and rotate one pipe half a turn,,there's your 90. This formula works the same for determining turns with several pieces of pipe. You might find The Pipefitters and Pipe Welders Handbook by Thomas W. Frankland invaluable in pipe fabrication layouts. Hope you find this helpful. I enjoy your KZbin channel very much.
