Tips for Buying and Selling Beading Supplies & Beadwork on Facebook Auctions.
Music by Cassette Tapes - Sugar Rush - thmatc.co/?l=5...
Facebook auctions are a great place to buy and sell beadwork and beading supplies, but they can be a little intimidating at first if you have never bought something from facebook before. Hopefully my tips mentioned are helpful to get started with buying and selling on facebook auctions.
Here is the auction site I mentioned: / pwblingauctions
PLEASE NOTE there are MANY Native American Auction Sites on Facebook. Each Auction is different and ran by different people. I mention Powwow bling because I have experience with that one and that group is ran by good moderators.
How auctions work; a seller will post a picture and a description that is in the following format:
Auction ends
Starting bid
Bid increments
Shipping fee
Shipping expectation
Payment forms accepted
Description
You place your bid in the comments. Others will likely bid after you and if they do, you can continue to place bids for a higher bid if you really want the item. If you win the item, the seller will message you and ask for your email and will send you an invoice through paypal. You pay the invoice within 24 hours and if you don't, you forfeit the win and you will get kicked out of the group. The seller will ship your items within 5 business days. If they ship through paypal, you will receive an email with tracking information once they ship it.
The way winning works is that once a minute passes on the closing time, the auction is over. For example if the auction closes at 6PM, the auction is officially over at 6:01, meaning that you have until 6:00:59 to place a bid. A trick I didn't mention is that you can set a timer and place a bid at that 59 second mark to win because anything after that will not win.
Basic tips in buying from facebook:
Always pay with paypal
Always pay with paypal invoicing and NOT friends and family
Make sure to ask for a tracking number if the seller isn't shipping with paypal
