Wow, I just love your video. How nice to show young people specially the Native Americans to carry-on their culture and traditions. I also wanted to add to where in Minneapolis to find NA supplies. “Bear Hawk” is awesome. They have about a 26 foot wall of supplies plus shorter glass case in front. They also have a huge square showcase with all apparel of beadwork n silver Smith. You can buy. mostly Ojibwe or Anisheabe. I some things like from you and I like to use long beats because if I beat the bracelet for me or a special friend, I’ll make 2 inch wide bracelet two and a 53 beats across with number 11 beats and I’ve made diamond cut 2 1/2 inch wide with 13 sides 2 1/2 inches and now I’m starting on 4 inches and I have my brother-in-law buys such he knows so much about sitting ball the Cheyenne, the black foot Apache Geronimo. He’s in traditional books from long ago. I’ve got books from long ago, so I respect your ancestors so much but today there’s good and bad in every race but I just wanted to let people know there’s also bear hawk In I’mNatiAmerican Minneapolis center.

Thank you for sharing your tips! I learned the hard way buying beads in the tube when I first started...they were a million different sizes and widths even though they were supposed to be size 11. On the Hank they are alot more uniform in size. Czech beads and English beading needles are what I really like (:

If you like to look at your beads in person to see with your eyes how the colors look how do you go about getting the right color you're looking for online just by looking at the photos?
@intertribalstyles12723 жыл бұрын
I usually buy online. The pictures on the website I shop at are pretty accurate. I also shop in person sometimes too, but it’s harder that way because the beads are behind a secure counter and the worker needs to pull them for you to see them and it can get really time consuming. I’d rather just shop online
@missmelbayer2 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for this video I love all your videos . I ordered all of everything you suggested but I don't know if it me or I bought wrong thread for the needles. what do you suggest. I bought long needles john James #12 and also bought #12 regular size. I bought a roll of that thread everyone uses #D . Is my thread to big if it's what thread should I get or is it me who just can't thread it???

I’m arguing with my husband now about earrings I purchased from an indigenous friend. He says I paid too much (I told him that I know the difference between cheap beads and quality work). I’m trying to find an easier way to explain it to him but I know the earrings I purchased took over 7 hours to make.

@ArtMadeUnderground2 жыл бұрын
Beads are unbelievably expensive. Even cheap beads. We don’t use cheap beads because our sales are mostly word of mouth and gatherings so we can’t use cheap and makes sales. It takes a LONG TIME to bead. If we were actually getting the worth, we’d be paid a decent rate per hour of labor. Artists get $45-$65/hr. We make maybe $3/hr for our labor. We do not get what these are worth at all.

If it’s beads missing just make sure your beads are close together when you tack them down. I suggest holding your beads with a finger when you pull your needle through.

Hi thank you for the video. How did you make the epoxy cabs? That would be very helpful especially if you have a certain picture or shape also do you make the epoxy 1"round part that can be put on top of the 1" circle picture that you have to use the punch thing? I hope you don't mind me asking questions. I can't wait to watch your next video on making earrings.
@intertribalstyles12723 жыл бұрын
I have an outdated video on how I make epoxy cabs on my channel. It’s not that good and doesn’t explain anything. But if you go into microsoft word you click on shapes, hit circle, make the circle 1 inch, go to insert image and you insert the image you want and you print it on printer paper and cut the image out and put the sticker on top. It’s kind of confusing but I’ll post an updated video soon!
