To cut straighter, try this: adjust the table ruler so it is exactly aligned with the t-track. Then saw a few inches into a straight piece of wood using the ruler. Now stop and look at the backside (without teeth) of the bandsaw blade. Is one side closer to wood then the other? If so, loosen the bolts that hold the table and turn it a little away from the side that touches wood. Make another test cut after tighening some of the bolts. If there is exactly the same space between the back of the sawblade and the wood on both sides you are good to go. After I did this, my cheap small bandsaw produces straight stripes half a millimeter thick. At least as long as I don't try sawing something thicker than an inch or so.

More of this please! Man that flip trick is so simple, but everything I needed to see today. Shop-sawing is so fucking frustrating. Definitely have that comatic on the wish list. Now that Amanda is out on her own, I’d love to just fly out and give you a hand for a couple weeks on some big production run when you need help. Some of this shit is just so simple, but learning how to scale without instruction feels so like I’m spinning my wheels in the mud a little.

Great video! Helps reinforce what you taught us during the chair build last month. The push block that we used at MASW was pretty cool though, at least for the small pieces we were doing.

Thanks for the tips. I have that same bandsaw and also use timber wolf blades. Don't have the power feeder and use gripper pushblock to feed the lumber. I was successful in making some 1/16" birdseye maple veneer for my second Morley Lounger. Thank you for all you do for us novices. Bill

Love these tips. I noticed that you had a shot of a cabinet with tambour doors. I would love to see a video on laying those out, how to keep the slats flat, finishing the tambour, etc. Plenty of videos out there about gluing the canvas to the slats, but how do you build them to get to that point?

Is it over kill to cut a veneer then take your stock to the planer to get a clean reference and go back to the bandsaw? Unnecessary?

Phillip, thank you for this video - as I was able to learn something about cutting perfect veneers on the bandsaw. Now one question....talk to me about your pouch. I am looking high and low for something like that. Thanks again.
