These videos are great but it would be nice to see some that give strategies to anglers with access to a boat but no electronics. What terrain features to look for, how to scout the fishery from google earth and underwater topographical maps (and where on the internet to find them), what exactly you're looking for when you do so, etc. Tactical Bassin just uploaded a video along those lines but I'd like to see y'all's touch (plus your videos are a lot shorter and to-the-point lol).

You enjoy the sport of fishing...that's what do. This style (in the video) of fishing has no sport to it at all. What fun is it to know where everything is. It takes the best part of fishing out the equation...the surprise of the thump.

I think this is one aspect of technology that doesn't improve the sport. The sonars are so advance it no longer takes skills to find the fish. My cousin runs a bass league with about 35 teams and this year they took AOY. They normally placed top 10 the past few years but you know what the difference was? They bought the whole shabang with the live scope 360.

What do you mean, I'm sure Christ and Simon Peter would of loved to have one of those little numbers on their sailboat. Me personally I'm a bank fisherman I got Sonar in my brain, I can map out the bottom just by seeing how long my bait falls in different areas. Then I form a mental map over time relating to the depth charts I constantly study, also feeling out the bottom with a jig and knowing exactly where your brush piles and rocks are helps a lot too. Slip bobbers help alot too for beginners it's the best way to map out the bottom without a depth chart from the bank.

Wheres the challenge with panoptics? Its like shooting fish in a barrel.
@bobthomas83424 жыл бұрын
There is no piece of equipment that guarantees success. Panoptics is pretty amazing, but it still requires knowledge to know where to search, interpret what you're seeing, and know what to throw to get them to bite.

We respect and understand anglers' being on both sides of the fence with technological advancements in fishing. Individuals choose how they want to participate. There are no stopping technology developments in any endeavor, and this W2F staff embraces it. We view fish finder technology as a means to get kids off the couch and into a boat -- a kid in a boat/outside with fish finder and fam/friends is a much-preferred alternative to a kid on the couch starring at a smartphone. Conservation needs to be a central conversation in lockstep with tech, though, cause catch rates increase for anglers that use and are competent on sophisticated fish finder technologies. A meaningful discussion; appreciate you guys chiming in.
@davidwalker73834 жыл бұрын
Sorry...but this isn't fishing. No sport to this style at all. Lame!!!
@Wired2Fish4 жыл бұрын
It's all a matter of opinion and fishing styles. We respect your position. As content and marketing folks, we also respect the technology as a means to learn more about the underwater world. With it, can come more fish catch success, and also a need to engage in more aggressive selective harvest. We have computers in our pockets these days -- the tech trend in society isn't going away. Moreover, modern fish finder electronics are going to be an important draw to get kids off of gaming consoles in the house and out on the water. This sport needs licenses sales now and in the future to support angler access and fisheries management. It's our position that technology will help angler recruitment. Again, we do respect that it's not in line with your fishing style.
