Heyy I’m 17 years old and I’ve been diagnosed with t1d 4 months ago. My dream job always was being a flight attendant and I thought that I wouldn’t be able to become one anymore because of my chronicle illness… It feels so nice seeing that it’s still possible!

I was also diagnosed with T1D in 2007. So inpiring to see a flight attendant with T1D.

If travelling internationally, bring all your diabetes supplies in your cabin bag, and bring backups. I have lost luggage more than once and I cannot recommend spending your holiday trying to source supplies locally or having an express package held back at the border for a week because it contained "blood" (blood glucose meter).

Nice case for supplies! I got a carryon that fits under the seat in front of me. Everything is within arms length. One flight attendant was directing me to put it in the overhead. This was one time I said No Way! No way I would be separated from my stuff. After ages with Medtronic, I changed to Tandem an never looked back.

I have been a T1D for 56 years and have always loved flying. I have been on an insulin pump for 21 years and have since starting using a CGM. I will not go through the x-ray machines at the TSA inspection area at any airport as it may affect my insulin pump and Freestyle Libre 2. Unfortunately, I have had issues with the TSA agents. Yes, I get pulled aside as I have two pieces of an electronic medical devices but for an agent that actually had the nerve to open a package of my CGMs. I will be filing a complaint here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Other than that situation, I have flown all over the U.S. and to Ireland and Scotland and an insulin pump has made my life so much easier.

I’d like to know where you got your little supply bag with insulated pockets. It looks like the perfect size. Not too big. I am using the Medtronic 880G system currently. Great video!

That pouch is cool, will it keep the insulin cool for more than 6 hours?

What about the irregular hours? How do you keep your levels balanced with a good diet when you work very irregular hours? I’m hypoglycemic, so the irregular schedule concerns me because of my eating hours.

I'm not diabetic but I use a glucometer so I am worried about flying with lancets. It will be my first time flying next year

What pouch are you using? I think it is very helpful, but I can't find it online.
