Do you use any photo editing apps when you list to Poshmark?💕🛍
@janyneagolia46503 жыл бұрын
Excellent video! I didn’t know Light Room was free ! Thats the best photo editing program I have ever worked with ! I will be downloading that tomorrow! Right now I use photoshop and whatever my ipad has on it to hold and edit images. Really, I look to start with a great set of photos, right from my camera, that doesn’t require more than 10 minutes of my time to edit. Stock photos are always super helpful but require alot of research at times. I think the key is deciding how much time you want to invest on a listing. Reselling boils down to “how much is my time worth?”

what do you suggest if we simply don't have a window straight across from an appropriate wall? My window is not across from the wall, but on the adjacent corner wall.
@LindsayNicolepm Жыл бұрын
Buying box lights or ring lights from Amazon could help depending if it would be worth the investment to you or just taking pictures in a bright room in general! The window doesn’t necessarily have to been right across, just having the natural lighting is the best way to show the true colors of your pieces! Hopefully this helps!

Hi, great tips for editing photos. I do have a statement and/or a question in reference to using stock photos. I know tons of people use stock photos, I do not.. I have heard top reseller you tubers say that stock photos should not be used, as they are not owned by the seller, and there can be consequences of doing that. Is that your understanding?

Thank you so much! I am so glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, that it is definitely a controversial topic and I would proceed with caution if used in the future. Hope you have a great day!

For stock photos is there a process to use them like permission wise? I remember i would just screenshot them but then i removed them cause i wasn’t too sure if it would affect my account or something . Thanks :)
@LindsayNicolepm2 жыл бұрын
Taking stock photos could be controversial. Most companies don’t mind however some to have your listing taken down. This does not affect your account on poshmark and has only happened to me once! I would Google “list of brands that remove stock photos” to know which I would avoid! Hope this helps!
@kimkamp387 Жыл бұрын
I’ve always been concerned with using stock photos as I am not the owner of the photo and would not be sure if I was violating any copyrights. Do you know if it’s perfectly okay to use stock photos?
@LindsayNicolepm Жыл бұрын
Yes, a very controversial topic indeed! I try to model the majority of my items now, but when I did use stock photos it was dependent on the platform on how strict they were and what brands I was using. Shopify has much stricter rules than Poshmark does.

Lots of great info. Photoroom isn't free. There is a free trial. Is there an app that is similar that is actually free?

Hi Ashley! I currently have the free version for PhotoRoom! You can upgrade to “pro” to remove the watermark tho! 🙂 I still use PhotoRoom, but I bet there are many apps like it!

Hello I have a question as is the way they pay you because there are people who send me emails to send them my information so that they can send me an email I am new I do not understand much I am afraid that they will make me fraud.
@LindsayNicolepm3 жыл бұрын
That is a very good question. That is 100% fraud if they are asking you to email them. It is also against Poshmark Terms and Service for them to communicate with you outside of the Poshmark platform. What I usually do when that happens is I respond back “sorry but I only communicate though Poshmark” Poshmark will recognize it as spam and delete their comment for you. I hope this helps! 💕🙂

I have a question for you in regards to listing videos. I've been trying them out on a few pieces and can't seem to get them to load. I'm taking the videos on my phone and they're 14 seconds or less. Any suggestions? Are there any edits that you do to yours to help them to load? Thank you!
@LindsayNicolepm3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm.. that is an interesting question. When I list with videos I usually take the video directly on the app instead of importing them from my camera roll. Maybe try that if you havent already? Hope this helps!

Hey👋🏻 new subscriber here! Great content. I love how clear and detailed you are with your tips. I am a new seller. I sold a few things in the past but, nothing crazy. I went through my storage unit and I have tons of clothes and other things that I want to sell. It’s just so overwhelming. It’s a lot of work. Trying to get a good backround with the lighting is tough when you don’t have an actual real backround for it. I have a lil over the door hanger thing and I hung the clothes on that. But, I see all these people with white backrounds looking all nice. I’m familiar with removing the backround and using editing apps but, idk I am just having a tough time with getting it all done. I’m a huge procrastinator lol 🤦🏻♀️ Honestly, because I have so much stuff I am seriously thinking of hiring someone and giving them a percentage. But, not sure if it’s a good idea or not. It’s just a lot of pressure for me. I feel like it would be worth it but idk. Anyways, I have a question, say you have something posted on 5 mile, and u sell it on eBay or Mercari or poshmark etc. How do you go about updating the post? Obviously, it looks better to buyers when you mark it as “sold” so they can see your a dependable buyer but, if it’s not sold through that app is it ok to mark it as sold? I was thinking of going into Canva to create a lil post saying it’s sold on a different platform rather than deleting it, or mark as sold through the app itself so there’s no issues. What are ur thoughts on that? Also, photo size dimensions? Are they all the same for most of the selling platforms? In the camera roll what ratio should I set it my camera to? 1:1 ratio? 4:3? There are sooo many selling platforms now. Varagesale, vinted, poshmark, Mercari, eBay, depop, OfferUp, thred up, and the list just goes on and on lol. Do you find that you should stick with only a few? How do u go about cross posting? It’s so much work to do it individually. Yes, U can copy & paste the same info into all the fields but, it’s so time consuming. So I’m just trying to figure out which ones out of the bunch are really worth it. Do you think because of the algorithm it’s better to take a batch of photos of the items ur selling, save them as drafts, and upload all of them at the same time so your receiving the most exposure? Sorry I know this message is more like a novel. I have so many questions lol. I wish I could just pick ur brain since u have been doing this for a while and know what ur doing. I am just having such a hard time and, being that I have mental illnesses including adhd, that certainly doesn’t help my case. 🥴
