I learned so much watching this video. I’m new to FMQ and struggle planning out my quilting. The line drawings really helped me think about how I need to approach my quilts in the beginning. I’m slowly getting it thanks to you and your team.

7 months ago I broke both my legs. Not able to sew but your live chats and other videos have brought me so much enjoyment. Thank you. One more surgery and will be able to sew by Christmas. Thank you so very much.

This chat was so helpful. Breaking down the design process into little chunks, really simplifies all the decision making. The hardest part for me when quilting a quilt. Luv the sneak peaks, as well.

Thanks for another great informative video!! You ROCK!!

Have you ever thought about offering the Build-A-Quilt with a pattern only option? It would be a little cheaper for those of us who are more budget conscience, but still be able to participate in your BAQ. Love everything you do, you have inspired me to save up and buy a baby long arm.

I agree with your suggestion. Especially for us overseas the postage to Australia is just horrendous

Would love that option. Pattern purchase and use up the pandemic stash

Yes! I paid so much just to join that I didn't make th blocks cause I know I cant afford the finishing kit.

I would also love that. It is not only the cost, but also the delay in getting the fabric. Postal service is not that reliable these days !

I love all your "Chats"! This one was particularly wonderful! I do have a request: If you have a chance, a discussion of how to quilt the blocks that are 'imperfectly pieced'. Using some of the same blocks from this sampler quilt for comparison would be especially helpful. I am definitely a visual learner, so when you mention that using a quilting design that will draw the eye away from where the piecing is not perfect, I have a difficult time seeing that in my mind's eye! Thank you so much!

One of the best ever live chats (even though I have to watch the videos later.) It is so helpful to see your thought process. I've learned so much from you...especially to just do it and it will look fine. Still working on not pointing out my flaws though!

I love to watch your videos. They are so helpful to see your suggestions on what to quilt where. You have so much experience to share with us newbies. I am a long armer that really needs help figuring out how to travel in and out of blocks. Help!! I’d love to see a live example on a long arm machine of how your traveled around a block with your designs. You are an inspiration to us viewers. Thank you!

20:38 that block is fabulous. A larger one would really make a nice baby quilt. The quilting is perfect. Anyone who says they don't like your work is je ne sais pas quoi. How I wish we were friends.

I love watching your quilting videos. It's given me the courage to try new things. Thanks for the great ideas for quilting sampler blocks. Do you have any suggestions for quilting a sawtooth star block?
@lindalisella98252 жыл бұрын
I used to love watching you quilt. Will you explain again why you can't quilt live? Thanks
@sued24332 жыл бұрын
This was a great episode! Any suggestions for a sampler quilt with blocks on point and solid setting squares in between? They're large 12" blocks so I need something in the squares that can be divided in half. The squares on point are too large to quilt a single motif on my longarm. (PS - I was in your shop and bought 2 of your books during LibertyFest last week!)

Hi Angela, Newbie here. Just learning how to quilt with walking foot and will be practicing on free motion too. I was wondering if you have any beginner series videos. If not, can you recommend anyone? Looking forward to getting good enough to do one of your challenges. Thanks!
@pamclose26382 жыл бұрын
Agreed. All recent video content is wonderful but seem exclusive to past followers and veteran quilters. Is there a live or current series for those new to machine quilting either with rulers, dot to dot and/or. free motion on domestic machines or is her stuff progressive and now targeted only for experienced folks. Hard to figure out all the nomenclature and identify a starting point for quilting with her methods.

I used to watch Angela on The Midnight Quilt Show. She would make a quilt and quilt it as well. I think you can still see these shows on KZbin. Enjoy your journey. 🙂

Love this - very helpful with design ideas!! Question … do you sketch out a quilting guide for each block before you start? You had the quilting diagrams in the video but were they for us to view for ideas or do you actually do that?? I kinda like it for each block.
@lindastevens83922 жыл бұрын
Did you do the quilting on this sampler quilt using your long arm or DSM? In one of your next chats, could you talk about how you quilt the center of your quilt using a DSM like this one, where you're quilting individual blocks. Center quilting is so darned difficult, at least for me. With my thanks, Linda

Could you go over what to do with bulky seams. You touched on it in this video for about 5 seconds. However, it would be great to talk about how to incorporate them into the quilting, like when you foundation paper piece and have lots of bulky seams! Pleaseeeeee Thank you

Angela, love your videos and this one in particular will be very useful me as I am working on a Sampler. I would be very interested in purchasing your stitching diagrams (and judging from other comments I am not alone!). Would this be something you would be looking at doing?

Angela, for the next Challenge, could you also offer Aurifil thread ? For the life of me, I just can’t get the tension right or stable with Glide !

Do you stabilise your quilt before quilting each block ? I mean straight stitch around each block first?

Hi Angela, I popped in late to live chat and had to leave so just rewatched. Was really a great chat. I have a sampler I need to quilt, this gave me ideas, but I don’t want it quilted to death. Lol. Would an all over meander be ok? Or would it leave it looking sad? I may post pic in your group on Facebook. Thanks for all you do!! ❤️❤️
