I have a budgie that was neglected and abused for the first six years of his life. He had no toys and only dowel perches, in his cage along with an only seed diet it took two years to teach him to step up on my finger. And it was very, very difficult to convert him to pellets and teach him to eat chop. And thanks to people like you he is now living his best life. Edit: Its actually a she. We didn't know her gender and then she ended up showing signs of carrying eggs and she ended up laying six eggs. All were infertile of course but its crazy how all the eggs in a pile next to her are bigger than her whole body. She has now given up on the eggs, and is now happier than ever before. I got a cockatiel named Ginger and they always play together, they are only out of their cages with supervision of course, but they do seem to get along. My dad has made them a tree stand, and recently I got them both flight cages, and they always make me so happy.

this is amazing, my budgie was raised on a seed diet and refuses to eat pellets or fruits/veg. meanwhile her cage mate stands in the food bowl and eats all day

I liked your DIY chop video because you are the first one using measuring cups or teaspoon. That is very helpful because I have one bird who is a picky veggie eater. That probably stems from his first 2 years with his first owner. 😊

Of all the things I've tried, my birds hate spinach. Kale, chard, broccoli - yup. The budgies actually took the spinach leaves out and threw them around their cage.
@candicet59733 жыл бұрын
Same but maybe u can try feeding sprouted bird seeds then try mixing it into chop my budgie didn't like veggies at first she threw it around too so I tried feeding her sprouts and she liked it then I added it to chop now she eats veggies Good luck!

I love your videos!!! I have a parrotlet just like Mia and I’m trying to get him on a healthier diet! This is super helpful! I’ve watched a bunch of your other videos and it seems like you mainly give your birds veggies and not many fruits. Do they get fruit at all? Should I try giving my parrotlet (Little Blue) fruits too? Also, love your eyeshadow in this vid! 🥰

if anyones trying to get their bird to eat pellets, heres what im doing: so every morning, i put a little bit of water in her food dish (just enough to cover the bottom) then put her pellets in it. add the seed mix she’s eating, but only about half or less the amount of pellets. let it sit for 5 minutes, then crush up the pellets (TOP pellets are really easy to crush once theyve been soaked) put in the cage after a few hours, your parrot has probably picked out most their seeds and has lost interest. take out their bowl, and place it on a surface accessible to them that they can see, and leave their cage open. since its “not for them” (out of the cage) they may go over and try to eat out of it. if they start eating, kinda just look away so they feel like they shouldn’t be eating it. make a new batch a few hours before their bedtime and put it in their cage. take the bowl out at night. repeat this everyday, slowly decreasing the amount of seed. once theirs no more seed and they are eating the crushed up pellet, slowly add less water every day. once they are just eating pellets, they will most likely eat it in their cage too. hope this works for anyone who sees it :) im currently in the early stages but i have watched lots of videos about this and based this off all them!

Can you please make a video on how you are training Yoshi bird manners, as in to step away and not be interested in interacting with the birds?

I have a budgie and I am wondering if it is normal for his beak to look a bit more green and for him to have watery poops after feeding him some spinach and celery for the first time?
@dorkusamericanus4 жыл бұрын
I just buy sprouts at the organic supermarket or farmers market because I’m lazy 🤪
Thank you! I will try this. My bird is very very picky, so this might help me. Also, do your birds eat cereal?

I just got a bird and realised it has a split beak... it's her lower beak and is split the whole way, she doesn't seem in pain and I haven't seen her eat yet but it is really worrying me on her health and if its causing her pain... what do I do!?!?! My nearby vet is great with my dog but isn't good with my parrots so I'm not sure what to do...😭😭😭

@chillidog12394 жыл бұрын
I don't think she breeds birds... there are videos out there but really think before you breed birds! Generally a breeding bird pair especially the female needs lots of calcium and protein, so lots of grains, pellets and veggies!
