Bought loads of Fimo only for it to go as hard as a rock. Stored the same as other brands, in a temperature controlled dark environment. Still went as hard as rock. Tried EVERYTHING, including buying an electric grater to get it to be pliable, added polymer, added nothing, you name it, I tried it. I’ve come to the unfortunate conclusion I will stick with other brands as no problem with them. I have some years old and they are still pliable, but my fimo’s which are much younger…. Rock hard.

What about the goldleaf, I mean, can you bake it? Often it is just coated plastic and should not be heated, the instructions say. Can you bake it anyway?

Hey, Our leaf metals are made from metal (8780-11 gold is made of brass), so it is no problem to put it in the oven together with the FIMO modelling clay (110° C, 30 minutes). You can use FIMO liquid 8050/8051 for fixing purposes but it is not absolutely necessary. Just place the leaf directly on the FIMO clay and then wipe it carefully with a paint brush until it sticks well to the FIMO. The lacquer 8783 should be applied after the hardening process. Hi! My gold leave tarnished after baking it together with my clay. What can I do to make the gold leave stay in position if I prefer to add it after baking?
