Great video for people new to selling 3D prints. Regarding the commercial licenses and reaching out to the designers. Great advice! I've had nothing but the best experience in doing this. Just yesterday Bendy Buddies released a Platypus and I joked it was missing a hat. The next day he has the hat version up! Designers and printers are as one.. They need to know from the printers what's selling so they can design hot moving stuff while the printers need the designers to have stuff to print. I've seen some printers trash talk, smear, and propagandize designers for one reason or another. You never want to do that. Designers talk to one another and that's one way to never be able to license with good designers again. Be kind to one another! Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas and thanks for your comment. I’ve seen the hate when, on Facebook groups or Reddit ones, when people ask about “is this allowed” or legal. There’s a real Robin Hood mentality out there. However if it was their hard work/design being sold, they’d be pretty upset. And I’ve seen many designers think twice about sharing their work, given how bad it is lately. Thanks for your comment!

Patreon is definitely the way to go, I also take time to select different colors, gradients, etc PLA that you normally don't see and be strategic on which colors to use for the current print you're choosing.

@@Bearded_Blonde My company, Prizura, is a combination of Prizura and Aurora for exactly this reason. Taking the time to find the best colors and offering suggested color options to your print on demand customers is a very big selling point so many printers ignore. I've seen so many videos on how you should just choose 10 or less colors so you can buy in bulk and save money. That's great for speed printers who are just in it to make the best profit margin possible. For those that care, having a diverse selection to choose from is the way to go.

Nice tips! I am getting back into 3D printing this year but I have been to a few craft fairs as a welder and there is nothing more awful than sitting there all day only to make 1 or 2 sales. Never even thought to ask for a refund. I'll use that in the future if it ever happens again. And I'm also in Maine, on the southern coastline. Maybe I'll see you at a fair. Good luck out there!

Thank you for covering taxes part. This topic usually skipped it similar videos. In my country it's quite a hassle to manage legal entity. You have to pay fixed amount of taxes no mater if you actually having incoms. So it's quite important aspect.

I pay for 3 different commercial licenses and it is very worthy every dime. I am not good at modeling learning but it is hard for an old guy my age.

Why did you bother making this as a video? You could have released it as an audio.

@@jasenking4092 Simple answer; When I chose a video I prepare to sit down so as to watch it. If it's an audio podcast I can move about and do other tasks while listening. If the video is just a "Talking Head" and not requiring me to be in front of my monitor I get annoyed as I have wasted time.

If it was so bad then why watch it? Even more so why waste your time commenting on it? makes no sense dude lol

There’s an old adage- if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. You’re on a Video viewing service.

@@adamvaughn1 "If it was so bad then why watch it?" Simple, I thought there may have be something more to it than a person sitting in a chair a chatting. But after scrubbing through it I realised it was a waste of time. That's obviously OK for you but since you're a "dude" you probably don't expect much.
