I just started as well. I joined a group of racers who rented the track for a day ($2000 /10 people = $200 per person) I got a lot of seat time. Made 21 passes. Well worth it.

First and foremost, shout-out from Japan. Omi you guys make the perfect team. The way the two of you play off one another and understand one another shows how much love you have for one another. I wish you guys all the success in the world. Watching your vids is like watching a movie. The quality is phenomenal... I pray that this whole tax thing goes away and you're able to remain a free man 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾.

Brock gave some very good information in a previous video (at an undisclosed location:) on how to launch a stock wheel base bike. I would also STRONGLY SUGGEST watching a few Rickey Gadson videos. Stretched or stock in my option he is one of the very best.

With a new rider on a stock/SWB bike, I typically advise against doing a burnout unless they start to spin. It's really not necessary at this point and just adds confusion when there is a lot yet to learn. Concentrate on one thing at a time then move on. Don't even worry about R/T yet, just work on slipping the clutch and getting a smooth consistent launch.
@popie67355 жыл бұрын
Agree 100% for someone just starting out. And really I've been running my Busa for years with no real burn out. Use a Shinko ultra soft. I just do a dry hop next to the water to knock the gravel off the tire. Works fine...

Now a days I'm low and slow but don't get it twisted I can still lay down a few good passes

When you launch you need to get the front end off of the ground. For my bike a good launch is being able to shift into 2nd gear while the front end is still off of the ground.

For your burn out Go around the water back up until your heels are in the water Don’t spin the tire in the water it throws water on your fairings that can drip onto the tire Then pull out into a clean space Stand up off the seat start your burnout as you slowly sit back on the seat when the tire gets hot you’ll feel it pulling you up to the line Great video it’s about as real life as it gets I can’t tell you how many test and tunes and see people learning just as you guys are no one starts out like. Amber light 1 (0.5 seconds delay) then amber light 2 (another 0.5 seconds delay) then amber light 3 (another 0.5 second delay) then the green light. Don't wait for green light - go on the second amber. It takes most people about 0.65 seconds to get the clutch engaged, get the bike moving and trigger the start timing light with the front wheel. Launching the bike on the second amber should get a reaction time (the time between when the green start light illuminates to when the front wheel triggers the timing start beam of your race) of about 0.150 seconds (150 thousands of a second).
@popie67355 жыл бұрын
I've been doing this a LONG time. I wait a split second on the third yellow or go red. You should be feeling the clutch. And let it pull you into the second light. Then you're not looking for the point it engages. You are at that point. Ease the clutch out as you twist your wrist.
@malibu1885 жыл бұрын
That's a great technique to get a good reaction time and start for the pro tree light as well as normal start lights. .
