I can't believe you posted this today. My mate, Doc2Wheels, is campaigning a turbo Busa this weekend for an NZ land speed record. The build has been a fascinating journey, lets hope the speed Gods are with him in a couple of days. I think they have been at minimum boost running in on the road, about 340hp. The record attempt "track" is a bumpy, narrow, country road, closed while the event is in progress. Wish him luck!

The great Mr. Albans there - making the bikes the manufacturers dare not for the last ** (I'm guessing around 1990 so 32) years. Top job as usual. Is there any chance of making it a bit more stealthy - maybe a widened fairing panel or something and maybe a dual exit exhaust? Some 18 years ago my mate came down to me in SW France where there were no speed cameras then. His 99 Hayabusa had a akrapovic full system. He tried a few top speed runs on empty stretches of the autoroute before catching Spanish juggernauts. He didn't know how fast , but the speedo was right around the dial and he was too busy to take a good look. Allowing for speedo error, pre GPS days he was certainly close to double ton.
