As far as umbilical cords sometimes it's best if you do it because I've had in the past had Moms pull on it just enough to cause hernias

Our previous experience (15 years ago with one litter) is Labs don't need much intervention if any, but have you had any situations where you have had to intervein? We haven’t had to intervene much. We’re always on hand to help and monitoring the Whelping closely. Our labs have made thing pretty easy for us to be honest. Do you give oxy momma or just Dr. Roys healthy bones? it does not look like oxy momma has calcium? but it seems like a lot of breeders use it. What is your opinion?

I’ve never used oxy mama. I have used Dr. Roy’s healthy bones and had great results with it post whelping… from the day the pups are born to about three weeks after the female stops nursing. This is her lactation and then recovery period. She needs extra calcium in the correct blend with phosphorus and Dr Roy’s Healthy Bones tablets accomplish that easily and budget friendly…which is why I recommend it.
