Truly appreciate the detailed review. I just bought the 12x12 for my upcoming camping in a few months and I can’t wait to set it up. Initially the price held me back but after rigorous searching and reading reviews, I finally settled with it. Easy set up, durability, protection from elements (bugs,rain, wind, sun), plenty of space for a group and storage, 4 awnings, 2 entrances, high ceiling, etc. Now I just need to make sure the family doesn’t find out how much it costs.

Lol 😂 I know what you mean. I still hear about that from my wife, especially since we can’t camp as much these days. I should put mine up for sale, since it still looks brand new. Oh well. I hope you enjoy yours for many years to come. Thanks for sharing!

Jurgen, thank you for this review! I just purchased the Northern Breeze 12 when I saw them 25% off. I was in the market for a new screen tent - as my previous one started to have issues. I spent some time looking at screen tents in general, and the Eureka Northern Breeze is pricey - but what I noticed was that most screen tents used fibreglass poles, or a powder painted pole - and most without side flaps (which started to explain the price difference). The Eureka poles are aluminum and a thicker gauge, full sides, and extra poles for an awning setup. I like to go camping for weeklong stretches, and in Southern Ontario, Canada where I live and camp, it typically will rain by the third day in the summer. Also every year, I volunteer with the local amateur radio group by doing their education setup during the Field Day contests toward the end of June. This tent will serve that purpose well. Jurgen, you also gave me some insight on your use of a gutter nail for stakes. I've started to collect these high chromed stakes with orange plastic hooks from Decathlon ($2.50 CAD). They are not too bad cost wise, but once you mentioned that you used gutter nails, these Decathlon stakes are basically highly chromed gutter nails with the extra orange hook bits. Thanks for the tips - they will become handy soon enough!

Thank you. You seem to have an eye for quality and you are right about the better poles. I like your choice of tent stakes. They say that you get what you pay for, in this case with Eureka tents , I think that you do. Thanks for your input. I appreciate your comment. Happy camping!

That’s a great idea for extra outside relaxing space. Especially if the area has bug issues.Take care amigo.

We've been through a few screen tents. Our last one got clawed up by bear at the cabin, lol! I don't think they come bear-proof! But, I do like that this one has covers for the sides! Great addition. The 4 prong top being attached is brilliant! Nothing to get lost. Looks like a good skookum screen tent. Thanks for sharing how it all goes up, Jurgen!

Great tutorial on setting up this screen tent. Looks like a good strong one. I like how you have it set up for an office. I suppose you could sleep in it too with the roll down sides.
@JurgensJourneys3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, and yes, I have used it for sleeping because the floor fits quite well to the sides with a few snaps to hold it along the sides and corners. The only problem I had was that I snored too loud and disturbed the neighbors, so I had to go back inside the camper. 😂🤣😒

Thank you for your comment. The only thing that I don’t like, the weight, is the very thing that makes it so sturdy. I don’t know the exact weight, but it’s not something you want to carry too far. I keep it in my camping trailer or the van 🚐 and use it nearby.

It looks like a really nice screen tent. There's been times I kind of wish we had one, but I know us. We would use it a couple times and then get too lazy to set it up and it would never get used again. We have a pop up canopy and never use that. Think we used it once, maybe twice. We're terrible about not using something cuz of our laziness lol.

Very good information on the tent. So nice seeing the Bear in the video. Sure do miss him. WOW man you move fast putting that together. lol This is a really nice looking tent. We are lazy and have one something like this but never really put it out. lol We are awful. Always look forward to your videos. This is really a great series you have going here. I love my clam tent but I had to go with a smaller one because the last one I had was heavy and hard to set up by myself. The clam holds up great in high winds. Also I would suggest the tents never have very good stakes. Yes, Railroad nails or heavy tent stake would be better. Great setup instructions. You look very comfortable in there.
@JurgensJourneys3 жыл бұрын
That's the same problem I had at first with this one. It is heavy for one person. I don't know how it would do in the wind either. Never really encountered winds, just rain and sun. Thank you, Dee, for watching and commenting, I really appreciate that, and will make time to visit your channel too this week. God bless you dear lady! Have a great Memorial Day!

Love that tent. It makes me want to buy one and just set it up in my backyard. I need protection from the mosquitoes when I set outside.
@JurgensJourneys3 жыл бұрын
I've done that when the mosquitos got bad, and we were talking about maybe setting it up on our deck. It's too hot to fool with it today though, Lol. I appreciate your nice comments and thanks a bunch for watching. Hope you are well and wish you a blessed week.

Thanks for this detailed review! I'm curious about the snap-in floor. I'm used to bathtub floors in camping/backpacking tents. How does this handle rain coming in during heavy downpours? My kids and I have slept in another screenroom that allowed a bunch of water in at the floor level - I'd prefer to spend my nights enjoying our outing instead of bailing water to keep our gear dry! 🙂
@JurgensJourneys2 жыл бұрын
That's a good question, Elizabeth. Frankly, I think that in a downpour, it will not be as effective as a tent with a sewn in floor. It does help a lot to keep things clean. My dog, for example, didn't have to lay directly on the gravel or dirt. If the tent pad is prepared with a bit of a raised edge all the way around, it would do well in keeping the rain from running in. The snaps are not very close together and don't provide much lift around the edges, so you might get water in, in a down-pour. Thanks for your support and question. Hope this helps. Jurgen

Apologies for the tardiness of my SMCT (Social Media Comment Tardiness). I saw the video when it came out and then before I could comment, I looked outside and saw a squirrel. It's true they are very distracting. At any rate, I have to say I love that screen tent and you garnish high praise from me for being able to set it up by yourself - the bloopers from me trying that would go viral, but maybe purchases of incontinence items would increase... I digress, perhaps those commercials are only on MY laptop. It was heartwarming to see the Bear with his fan in the tent. Such grand memories! I was wondering, Jurgen - what brand of fan was that? I have a Utilitech Pro 20" floor model that I used in barns, but it's a super loud wind machine! I would love a quieter one, and that one looked more sleek and quiet. If Mr. Rottenbear could hang in there, it's already a winner! I'm sure I've taken enough of your time now and won't start touting the glories of that expandable RAKE...(I did have the wherewithal to put that on the wishlist before the squirrel appeared. Love it!!) Keep recording, dear friend; advice from an experienced camper is GOLD.~💜
@JurgensJourneys3 жыл бұрын
No need to apologize, Stacey. Your antics more than make up for your tardiness. I can almost imagine the bloopers, Lol. That's because I struggled so, the first few times, myself. Yes, the Bear is such a sweet spot in my memories. My memory breaks down though, when it comes to the source of that fan you saw. We've had it for years, and it probably cost $20 at Walmart. Since you mentioned it, I might search for one and add a link in that description, along with the rake that I dearly love. It's more that I love to play outside in the leaves with it. I'd drag along my whole shop and tool shed if I could. Sue says I only go camping so I can work somewhere else for a change. Not true! Anyway, thanks again for taking up my time. It's always a good time ... which is what I wish for you. Have a good time and a good night, my fine friend.
