hello, I’m an incoming freshman and was enrolled as a psych major to uci but I want to do something in business or economics. should I change to undeclared? and then request a change or stick with psych and then request a change? thank you for your video!!

hi angie, first off congratulations on getting into UCI! it's a great school and i think you're going to love it here. now to address your question, if you know the specific major that you want to declare by the time of your SPOP (freshmen orientation that occurs in the summer) you can actually switch your major during the orientation. if you are unable to switch at the time of your SPOP, i would then recommend that you actually stay at a psych major because you will have more options for class choices without the class restrictions that undeclared majors often face! i hope that all made sense! please feel free to ask further questions and i'll be happy to answer them~
