I wake up at 3:50am everyday!!!! My tips are - go to bed at a time that allows you to have the ideal hours you need for sleep (I feel great on 6 hours s go to bed at 9-10pm) - have my alarm on the other side of the room - if possible, have some sort of device that turns on a light automatically at the time you need to wake up. - when you're first training yourself to wake up earlier, make sure you reward yourself in some way (if you're out of bed by the goal time). The first week of getting up early is hell, but after doing this since I started medical school, I've never been more productive, healthy or happy!

so you go to sleep during the day and wake up at night? I say aim for waking up at 2:00 am in the future

May I suggest you use a softer wake up ring tone? I had yours and changed mine to something softer and it is mind blowing how much it changes my brain in the morning. It feels like "yay morning" vs " ugh morning".

Jenny Le when I used to workout in the morning, I had soooo much energy all day. Better than coffee. Gets sooo hard to do now-a-days, no idea how I did it. I’m actually at the gym now cause I skipped a few evenings lol. Love your vids!!!❤️

This was great!! Even after retirement, I still get up early to drink my coffee quietly and meditate for a good hour, do my work out without interruption and gear up for my busy retirement day!! Trust me, it gets busier the older we get!! Even with the kids gone! lol!!! Have a wonderful week! PS --- thanks to your last video, I've incorporated a daily 20 minute workout (rather than just 10 minutes on the elliptical) into my day! Thank you!!!

I was staying up later studying but since we have been having class 8am-5pm every day I’m usually exhausted after. So I’ve been trying to wake up earlier the past week to study rather than trying to study after school when I’m already tired and I just get distracted. I’ll probably keep trying it and see how it goes. I’m in PA school now so literally studying all the time.

I used to consider myself as a night owl, but ever since I entered med school, I feel like I've transformed from a night owl into a permanently exhausted pigeon. Love your tips! I heard about sleep hygiene from a Lecturio video in their Med School Survival Guide series (anybody else watched that one?), but I have yet to learn how to organize my time so that I can get enough sleep. I am definitely going to try designating a uniform sleeping time and waking time everyday and maybe attempt avoiding the snooze button. Do you have tips on how to study when you don't want to study? For me that is the constant struggle D-:

I like waking up early, but the hard part is when I don’t get enough sleep and end up a zombie. Do you usually get much sleep as an FM resident? I might be in the same spot in a few years :).

you wear coloured contacts! Is there a reason for that / are you eyes a different colour?
@drjennale6 жыл бұрын
I had contact prescriptions for both colored and clear contacts. When I went to get more, they told me only my color ones weren’t expired. Since that time, I’ve been so use to wearing colored contacts I never switch back. That was in college. Lol
