I love to see all the Domers on KZbin who are sharing advice to the thousands of (understandably) anxious perspective students out there. It has been a few years since I graduated from ND but, as a student advisor and higher-ed professional, I can confirm that essays/personal statements are key; they give you a small chance to showcase your personality and interests. But remember, also, that the Admissions process is necessarily arbitrary to an extent: a school that receives >20K applications for

Great video. Have daughter exploring ND for undergraduate. Interested in music as one possible major. She’s looking for smaller university without the Greek life scene. Did ND do any interviews as part of your process? Would you describe ND as very religious? Thanks !!

Hi Mark, thanks for the comment! To answer your questions, I did not interview (I’m pretty sure ND doesn’t do any), and ND can be as religious as you want it to be. The only required aspect is that every student must take two semesters of theology and two semesters or philosophy. Not all of these classes are from the Catholic perspective, of course, and you can choose to learn about any religion around the world! That being said, you could also find a mass everyday on campus if you wanted to, too.

Hi Meredith, this is really helpful. Does it matter if I write over 150 words or over 650 words. And also when did you apply for ND, the REA or RD?
@meredithstump20862 жыл бұрын
Hi, great questions! If the website lets you submit over the word limit, I assume it’s okay. But it’s better to be concise and abide by the limit, if you can. & I applied regular decision!

@@meredithstump2086 it's okay lol, before I was wondering if I should go to saint Mary's or holy cross but now I'm leaning more towards saint Mary's if I don't make it into Notre Dame. But I was wondering if you had any friends from saint Mary's that you could maybe make a video with or talk about the relationship between saint Mary's and Notre Dame. I also just registered for summer scholars at Notre Dame for this summer and I'm a little nervous about it

@@kierstynedwards521 im happy to speak on those subjects:) if your ultimate goal is to get to notre dame, st. mary’s is a good place to start. they have a “gateway program” where you attend for one year and then transfer in to ND. of course you don’t have to, but it is pretty common. i dont currently have any friends on their campus, but i could reach out to some people if you would find that beneficial! the relationship between the schools is strong- there are some jokes about st. mary’s girls stealing notre dame guys lmao beware of that! & i know a couple of people who did summer scholars and they talk about it often (in a good way haha). it’s an amazing way to meet people and feel a part of campus traditions before moving in.

@@meredithstump2086 thank you!! I'm a junior in high school right now so I'll be starting college in 2022 and I'm working on getting a track scholarship for Notre Dame. I just won't give up lol. Notre Dame is like home to me and I just know I don't want to go anywhere else.
