Cut to look like it was on VHS but obviously just a cheap effect, annoying cuts changing the things he says and repeating it, audio of the audio of his films, just basically really distracting and annoying.

Interesting insights. I'm not sure about cutting to where your eyes would go. Sometimes cutting where the characters eyes would go is more interesting, but I get that Loach wants a sort of documentary look, even if he doesn't shoot that way anymore really.
