Tips on Exchanging Your Money in BALI

Today we want to share with you our tips for changing money in bali and which ATM accepts foreign debit and credit cards.
Travelling to bali is an exciting times, but as a tourist you want to be careful with money changer scams, most will try to scam and rip you off.
As a local I had the advantage of knowing this so I wanted to share this critical information for traveller travelling to bali especially if you are a first timer. This is the best tips to exchange money in bali without worrying about scams.
We hold an Australia debit card and we often find it difficult to find atm that accepts foreign card but we found one and hope this would be a great tip for those with foreign cards.
Do bear in mind that withdrawing from an atm in bali will generally incur a fee depending on your the Bank you are banking with

I think Citibank in Malaysia have something similar like here in Australia where you can withdraw money from ATM overseas without any fees, worth to check it out 😎

We exchanged money at the bank in America before we went to Asia last year. Probably not the best rate. Good tip on places to change money, will keep that in mind next time we're in Indonesia.

I know right - i used to do that, but we use the citibank debit card here which actually was really good for foreign exchange with no withdrawal fee, but because bali has no credit card system for smaller warung well i guess you still need cash and haha even we found it hard and had to research hard 😀🙏, hows your xmas? true also depends on the bank - me and helmi use citibank chris, they apparently have the best exchange rate almost 1 to 1 when travelling overseas! :D

Good solid advice there guys, especially about avoiding the places offering above market rates, it's the old saying "if it's too good to be true..." 😎👍 A quick question regarding the ATM's, did you notice if their machines had a limit on the amount you can withdrawal in a single transaction? Here in Vietnam some ATM's only let you take out VND3,000,000 / US$130.00 at a time, which can be a bit of a nuisance.

Okay, I needed to watch this before we actually visited Bali. Cos I went to some questionable places to exchange money and was constantly worried that the dude was gonna give me fake money. Hey it will work :) to be safe before travelling, call up NAB and told them you are travelling to Indonesia and give them dates so they won’t block due to unknown activities especially if you are going to use it for high $ transactions

palwinder singh most of bali have them from provider like XL, Simpati (you can get them at the airport) but its slightly pricier than inside bali itself, but most convenient store sell sim card - so if you arent in a rush inner bali gives you better package deal for sim card :)

yeah for local Indonesian banks, their ATMs seem do not accept foreign cards. but for international bank, should be ok
