I really like the sharpening station mounted on drawer slides! Great idea!

Good video Sir. One way of preserving both the edge on the "complex" cutter and its life is to not use it. I try to do as much waste removal as possible with block planes, rebate plane, whatever suites my needs. I then use my "complex" blades (combo planes, moulding planes, hollows and rounds) to clean out / clean up the moulding shape. Maybe a video on that.

I agree with you about how important sharpening is. A side effect of my woodworking is that all the knives in the house are actually sharp. Scissors too. I even sharpened the blender. Makes a big difference.

Right! My kitchen is a lot "sharper" too! Thanks for watching!

Thank you very much for the quick video-response to my request :)! As always, you gave some very valuable information that I will take with me to the workshop. I recently came upon a bunch of old, wooden molding planes, some of them have very complex shapes and will take hours to bring back to working condition. But isn't that part of the fun...? Merry Christmas to you and your family!

I use the slip stones and grooved stone for sharpening carving chisels for my Stanley 45 and 50 irons. But the sandpaper on wire could be a game changer for small beading irons.
