Thanks for the information in this video Lyn! We normally keep our plants outside in the garden so when it rains they will get water but otherwise we don't water! It is always good to know! Have a wonderful evening Lyn and Hans! Sending you lots of love!

I think a winter watering regiment depends on geographical location. I water all my cacti and succulents year-round and they are doing fine. Of course, I let soil dry between waterings. I'm from southern California. 🐼

Hi there Lyn 😊 I knew you'd have the answer 😉 Great video...Jeez your polly tunnel looks almost empty to how it looks now! My 'lounge tunnel' is maintaining a 60/5 temp and humidity. The dehumidifier runs if any higher. Sending yourself and Mr Hans all the best for the weekend ♥

I like the way your water your plants because of the very high humidity and cool temperatures. I have cut back on watering cactus and succulents during the winter time except for winter growing plants. I also live in Southern California near the ocean and have morning dew on the plants. I monitor the plants and determine if they need water.

Very interesting video. As you know i have my plants outdoors althought i noticed that this winter they don't need water as they wanted the past year. I think maybe of the mild tempertures and the high moisture. Because it rains often here. Thanks for sharing Lyn.

Hi Lyn :) In my case I have not watered my cacti since October. Although now in December is 20 degrees my the house, I know they need the lower temperature during the winter but I have no choice. P.S your Christmas cactus flowers are very beautiful, and thank you for info, another great video.

Thats fantastic news Bevy :-D well done on your pollination and its going to be so special to grow these beauties from seeds :-D it can take up to a year for them to fully ripen but usually it takes about 6-9 months or sometimes sooner, but here are a couple of videos I have made on how to know when to harvest the seeds and to know when the seed pods are ready : kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKPZlKmCo79pmtk and also kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKi9mp2Frrmmp6s&list=PLS9jVPyxBiff8ncRkPZj0-Feenq4BwxnE&index=10 thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from Ireland for a brilliant day XXXX

Hi Caroline :-D I bring my String of Pearls into the house for the Winter as I only keep my Polytunnel at 4-7c and these plants prefer a bit warmer to overwinter, I keep it in a spare room where I overwinter a lot of my Cacti and Succulents that still grow over winter or need to be kept warmer, I keep it near a window and water it once a month through the Winter to prevent the pearls from drying up, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you tons of love and happiness and heaps of PLANT POWER from the Emerald Isle to London and have a sunny Sunday today XXXXX

so I bought some succulents and cactuses and I couldn't wait until the winter is over and I repoted them all and I put them in one pot and made an indoor cactus garden but the gardener told me to wait for at least 20 days in order for them to get used to the environment and then report them otherwise they may die but it just couldn't wait and I did report them right after I got home. now I haven't watered them and i put them in the spot of the house which gets a little morning sunshine I'm just really worried about what if they die cause every one says you shouldn't repot cactus and succulents during winter, I really don't know what to do, should I do anything or I'm just worried too much and nothing is going to happen to them?

Hi honey. Wonder if you can help. I have a Pachyphytum oviferum which I put in the greenhouse. When I checked at the weekend it’s leaves had started to drop. I looked closer and the stem was rotten on one side near the soil. I’ve taken drastic action and cut the stem above the rot and replanted. 1. Do you think it will reroot? 2. How can I get rid of the condensation in my little 4 shelve greenhouse? I’m assuming it was damp. Thanks in advance. Julie

Hmm... Well the growing season lasts all year round here. So I water them regularly in winter. In fact, I need to water them 4 times as much in winter as winters here are very dry and the soil doesn't stay moist for long.

It can be hard to believe that a little green blob can survive nine months without water if they do and they multiply. One of my older ones has about fifty years now from only a couple when I bought it. Regards and happy Christmas.

Some of my cacti are going a bit soft , as in dry 😕 Can they dehydrate in the winter ? They are outside , should I water them more often ? Or should I put them in water and hydrate them for a while ?
