Just thought I’d comment and say thanks a ton. This video is the reason I figured out how to do a mohawk. I am better at liberty spikes but my mohawk is starting to come together. I’m about to be 35 and I never did anything that I wanted to when I was younger. Now I have a sleeve of my fav music, a lip ring, and when I do a mohawk, I just feel so goddamn proud that I am finally being who I want to be. And I get so many compliments from people when I’m out at shows. So thanks a ton for helping me live out my personality dreams. But also, y’all should make a video showing people how to drive a car without ruining their mohawk, because damn is that a challenge haha.

I have always loved Mohawks but my dad and his side (the entire side that lives in SD) have always said no to it and they say “oh your a girl, Mohawks aren’t for girls.” But my mom always said “if that’s what you really want than go for it” and my dad (after about 6 years of begging) FINNALY said yes and I’m getting my Mohawk this Friday! IM SO EXCITED and I’ll have it before school starts so I’ll be the coolest girl in the school (I’m 12 btw so I’ve wanted a Mohawk like yours since I was 6) EDIT: I’m fifteen now and I’ve read through the reply’s. Holy shit y’all are so nice and I appreciate every one of you. I’m still punk and I always will be I’m out as a trans guy now and I’m thriving, haven’t had a hawk in a while although, it’s time to get back with it! >:)

I was in Sioux Falls for awhile. I had a 2 footer, giant bi-hawks, tri-hawks, any fucked up way I could do it. had like 5 fins once too haha. The humidity was unreal, hairspray is not as great in SoDak. I would go with Dermisa glycerine soap stick it up with a waxy lather, it wont stand up perfect yet, dont worry. when it dries or is almost dry preferrably, start sticking it up. use a comb if you want to break it up a bit, and use hairspray to make it stiff and crisp and to get those ends you combed out into a beautiful fan. practice makes perfect. Less perfect is cooler though, looks lived in and plus you wont have to worry if it gets messed up. Anyway, coming up with your own style is dope too hit up a Savers, a Goodwill, or an ARC and see what you can find. Michaels will have cool fabrics for punk projects too and remember the most important thing is self respect and never let a punk cliche define you because fuck punk its about living how ya want and not being confined by anyones standards for you so its your part in it that helps define the culture fuck the labels and also keep your ass sober and in school no one likes wasteoids not even other punks after awhile and your life is worth giving it the best shot in any direction you can take. Its your life so care for it above all else fuck what other retards in the scene say they can be dumb to death addicts cant stay punk its just a dead life and dummies cant stay independant and free so use punk to motivate posivity not self destruction ok. Freedom Peace and Liberty, passion before fashion, thats all ya need to know besides some cool bands ha👍

@@3sjstill438 yeah having a mowhawk doesn't make you punk. I have one but I live the life style. I've been homeless, I live nomadically. Yessss thanks so much for the tips!! My little man has a mohawk and I use the gel (got to be glued) and comb through to get the shape, then more gel and hair spray but it tends to droop and not stay the longer it gets. I was thinking blow drying and straightener was key so I'm trying it! Yay! Does the spray work better than glue in your opinion?

This is amazing! How often do you go through a can of hairspray? And how sturdy is this thing? Strong enough that if you hit your head on a doorframe it would stay up? Also, how do you fit in a car with this?
@Livingdeadgirll
@Livingdeadgirll 6 жыл бұрын
Emily Briggs it’s very sturdy! He can definitely hit door frames and it pops back up! In the vlogs you see him sleeping on it and it’s kinda bending, but once he stood up it popped back to place! When he coats it in gel he can even have dudes fall on it in a mosh pit and it stands right back up! As long as it’s not a hot and sweaty basement show that is! We only buy about one can a month, maybe two if we have lots of things to be “dekt” for.

How long does it take to get the Mohawk up on an average day?
@Livingdeadgirll
@Livingdeadgirll 6 жыл бұрын
Michael McDonald he’s been refining the time slowly the longer he’s been doing it. Also, when his hair is longer it takes much longer. At this length he can usually get it up and sturdy in 25-30 minutes. Then maybe 10-15 more if we’re going to a show that he knows it will take a beating!

Livingdeadgirll that's about how long it takes for me to spike my hair but it doesn't look nearly as good as this, good job on him.

What do you do to your hair when you want to go to sleep? Do you wash it off?
@Livingdeadgirll
@Livingdeadgirll 5 жыл бұрын
Luis Nunez nope! Just lay on my side and go to sleep! Since the sides are shaved it’s easy! I’ve kept it up for 4 days before.
