You guys are freakishly strong. I wish I was as strong as you guys but I am skinny... skinny but strong. People say I'm stronger than I look. When I was in high school, which was like 4 or 5 years ago, I benched 200 lbs like 4 times. And back then, I never worked out. Now I lift and exercise every single day so I'm curious to know what my bench numbers are now... But I don't like my physique, I'm like 16% body fat but I want to be 8% so i can be shredded. People say there's nothing wrong with my body but I don't like it. I need to be able to see the vascularity in my arms and the ripped shredded abs. Freakin' genetics man. My dad was never ripped but he was always really strong. To this day, his arms are thicker than mine. I'm a freakin' midget lol. 5'6 and 155-160 lbs depending on the day but I'm pretty freakin strong for my size. i want to bulk but at the same time be ripped... idk if that's even possible. i eat 2200-2400 cals a day. And i know that's probably not enough to bulk.

Your lats work as stabilisers during exercises that require horizontal abduction. Because the lats primarily are trained by pulling movements and the lats are only isometrically contracted DURING horizontal abduction exercises like the bench.

That's a really good start. No aim for benching your body weight 10x. Then aim for benching twice bodyweight. So 300 at 150.

Bart Kwan I'm 5'8, a bit more than 155lbs and 18. I usually rep 135 then 155 then 170s. I thought that I was doing pretty well already but now you're saying I should aim for 310lbs?!! Thanks :)

You will get there in 5 years. Just keep on benchin'! I am in bussiness for 2,5 years now and I bench 225 for 3 reps (body weight: 205). You have to put some serious muscle too. I am 6'1 and 50 lbs heavier. EAT!!! And don't get fat.

***** Hi Bart, I'm currently in high school and we have a weights/lifting class and I bench with the same exact form you have in this video, but I've been told numerous times that I need to keep my head down while benching. I notice that you always push your head up while benching too, so am I suppose to keep my head down or am I fine?

Yo Bart my man, got a question for you with body building. (long time fan of you and Geo btw :)). Basically, my right shoulder looks more developed in muscle like its just bigger than my left shoulder, how do I make them the same size? My right shoulder looks like its more down than my left shoulder, so my left is more up. I think I just need more muscle mass built on the lateral fiber deltoid. My anterior deltoids haven't really been worked on on both sides and I think my posterior deltoid is a bit more built on my right than my left. Note: I'm not buff atm, i'm just average and i'm getting into all these workouts, but like 2 years ago I was hitting the gym a bit for my arms, chest and shoulders, so i think maybe a lack in experience during my workouts for shoulders caused my energy to be directed on my right shoulder more over than my left. I've been tryna think of ways or seek help fixing this but no luck man, would appreciate the help. :)

Fresh Prince 265lbs, I've got exams so have only been doing volume work. 265lbs went up quite fast though, only problem was my left hand sort of lost stability when I was trying to re-rack and if it weren't for my spotter I think I might've smashed my fingers into the rack stands lol...
