Everything Ali talks about in this flight is GREAT advice for a new jet pilot.

I'll have a jet soon. Friends have been wanting me to buy their old used stuff for a good price but building/assembling really teaches you the systems. The MB-339 will be my first and this video is a great help. Thanks y'all!

Great job Steve and Ali!!! Lots of good information for the beginner turbine guy!

The guy in the blue jacket explains in a very clear & concise way. Thanks.

As someone who was a newbie to turbines 180 flights ago (and thinking I would never own one after ~42 years in the rc hobby!?) your video makes perfect sense. Once you are straight and level and close to the runway bleed off the speed. I see so many with a lot of experience try to land when the jet still wants to fly!!?!? My first turbine after ZERO edf jet experience was the Boomerang Ranger set up slightly nose heavy. (only thing that "looked" like a jet that I flew prior was an F20 glow tigershark....) :P

Thank you! Very good advice and understanding of the equipment, plus above all just be diligent and check, check, check. These planes can be very dangerous but if stay on top of the whole situation, you can save not only the plane but possibly someone's life. Thanks again...

Great video. It looks like the turbine was running for about 12”. Start, range testing and flight. How much fuel was left in the tank. I’m looking forward to getting mine in the air this spring.

No run up ?
@Mgp-Rc10 ай бұрын
In 180 flights with my first jet I have run up probably 70 percent of the time? And the old shake etc. NEVER had a flame out until recently whereby a small piece of wire (Smaller than safety wire) made "friends" with one of my turbine bearings.....not fun! Flying again happily now as I have a really good Jetsmunt servicer in Australia who looks after me :P

Well done. I am considering this airplane. As I watched, I had a sense of déjà vu; then I realized you are flying from the Eli Field that is the default airfield modeled in the RealFlight RC Flight Simulator Software! I wonder if this airplane is also modeled in that software? - if not, maybe you could add? Also with the other 720p comments, could you upload (to your server, dropbox, etc.) a higher resolution/quality format? Surely you didn't record in 720p.
@Mgp-Rc10 ай бұрын
Easy to Upload a higher res......Just depends on where you are as with a lengthy video that would mean a LOOOOOONG upload to KZbin. Have to also consider what everyone is going to be watching the video on. Mobile phone / Laptop? Am about to twiddle my thumbs I think with a Go Pro Max (360) cam on my jet. The file size/s are going to be "significant!!?"

Admittedly this is my fault. I'm going to see if I still have this project file and upload a new version.

Also, yes the MB339 is in RFL Evolution and flyable at Eli Field :)

@@StevesRC yes, I should have just checked. I've already flown it in RealFlight 😁

41:44 need to do that with ANY model plane.! during a maiden, etc., a pilot NEEDS to Observe how well/poorly the model glides.
@daviddavids288410 ай бұрын
11:25 in general, cg goes at THIRTY PERCENT of chord or mac.!!! in the case of a model that has a swept wing, the mac-location is projected to the root chords, for convenience. d

Using a gyro in a fixed wing? Or in a car? I must be much older than I feel. How loud are tnese tiny jets?

All good stuff and advice...; Except for me the MB 339 ain't that small! I tried the 80N engines and IMHO this airplane needs a 100N. That is the sweet spot for me as it's enough thrust to get out of bad situations if need be. I agree this airplane is not for high speed and so that given I still would say 70-80N engines will be a bit underpowered. 100 the MAX! If one happens to have a Jetcat P130 RX laying around (like I have) Then YES it will fit in the MB 339, but throttle management will be very important... Basically nothing above 1/4 throttle... LOL 😂
