In this video, we cover some of our favourite apps, practical learning tips, and discuss some of the mindset challenges our members run into when trying to learn the language.
We also answer a question we hear over and over again: "How can I confirm the words I'm learning are used in Portugal and not just Brazil?"
And finally, we put an end to all the suspense and reveal exactly what we've been working on for the last few months! (Note that the initial launch will be limited to those on our email list, so make sure you're on it if you want to be notified).

Ha ha, yes,#1 way to integrate European Portuguese into your life is to marry a Portuguese native. Did that several years ago. my wife speaks better English than most native Americans, really. You all are right, so many Portuguese speak English so well it is too easy for people like me to not have even bothered to learn Portuguese. Now it is my turn to learn her language. I definitely have motivating factors, such as being able to speak with her parents and become more like a local and less like a permanent tourist. I want to earn my Portuguese citizenship so I must learn the language. You two guys work really well together and seem to have a great friendship. I am very thankful to have found you all as offering up European Portuguese. Brazilian Portuguese educational sources are everywhere. My wife and I expect a fair amount of Portuguese natives have a certain amount of dislike for hearing Brazilian Portuguese spoken. I didn't want to waste much time in learning to speak in the wrong dialect and using "wrong" words. Thanks guys.

Ahhh this was amazing... I am currently taking my first Portuguese class. I am struggling... I will be moving to Portugal in about 4 years. My husband is Portuguese, my family now has their citizenship's now I need to get mine.. I have to be able to speak the language when I go to the consulate. It shows I am being part of the community. As well it is important to be able to know the language if I'm moving there! These tools will help so much and your videos are a great addition to my class ! Keep up what you doing.. amazing.

I went to Lisbon last year and before leaving I took a Pimsleur course. I really enjoyed it and it helped give me at least a very basic vocabulary for getting around town (hello, how much?, where is the bathroom?, etc). The European Portuguese was the 2nd Pimsleur course I took (previously did Czech) and I had good success with it. Then last month I had a stopover in Lisbon - on board TAP to get there and I watched all your videos. They were great because not only did they refresh what I had previously learned, but I got the visual/reading element. Pimsleur teaches you by listening and repeating only. (Which helps a lot with pronunciation). Thanks for all you do!

My boyfriend is Portuguese, I'm Hungarian and we live in Belgium. I absolutely LOVE learning new languages, but before finding Practice Portuguese I was pretty stuck, and later I found out that most of the stuff I learned was actually Brazilian... I'm so very happy that I found you guys! Please keep up the amazing work! I enjoy the course very much! And even my boyfriend learns new things about his own language from it every day... He was very impressed with the vowel pronunciation chart. For native speakers is often hard to explain certain things about their own language.

Those negative motivators you mentioned are real! Thank you for mentioning them. Those little tasks, over time, can cause a lot of anxiety if you can't speak the language and can make you feel very isolated (I speak from experience unfortunately). My next move to Portugal, probably this year, and I don't want to repeat the same mistake there.

I love what you guys are doing by the way. I was born in Lisbon, and came to Florida as a baby and never learned until I returned at 19. I can speak it now but I had to figure out all those tricks you talk about myself, the music, TV, changing my phone, computer, even custom programming my car at the dealer, and I can attest to the fact that there are NO resources to learn European Portuguese without traveling to Portugal and taking classes like I did. If I had this 6 years ago it would've done so much for me, but even now it helps keep my fluency up.

Tive perdido muitas horas do meu tempo!! O vídeo “Disappearing Sounds” fez-me rir tanto! Muito obrigado e boa sorte!

This is what has made me really undecided on which to focus on. Anxiously awaiting your reply Kate
