I enjoy your videos my ASU30RLX is 13 years old and works extremely well no issue ever. A testament to a good product and a quality install. Getting a little nervous on the age, but its performance on 90s+ degrees days was great.

You should put your communication wire in seal tight and the other end into the line hide also wrap the line set with vinyl to protect the line set overtime

I've installed a few mini-splits here in AZ, the toughest part of the job is drilling that hole in the house - which here is chicken wire stucco. Carbide Hole Saw with a water squirt bottle. And mounting the indoor unit while guiding the lineset thru.
@michaelmorello33903 ай бұрын
You should use nylog glue for your indoor and outdoor threads for lineset connections is safe for all refrigerants and I've been using for 10 years and never bothered with no leaks. Take a look at it the shit is awesome. Love you mikey pipes your the best

VERRY very nice installation ❤ question why don’t you all carry a duplex in a handy box with a 24” lead tail? All of us carry one for jobs with no convenient AC outlet we just tap onto the load side of the disconnect. The duplex receptacle will blow at 20 amp on a 15 amp for receptacle… saves hauling heavy 100 footers cords around…

Are there different qualities of the rolled copper line-sets. Father-in-law has had one go bad ~5yrs after install (small pin holes in it (like it rusted out) where condensation of pipe occurred).. replaced it and same issue less than 2 yrs later. Is the copper line set quality that bad? Or are there options for “good/better/best” in material?

There was a bad batch of white insulation linesets sold 5 years ago that all leaked I changed 5 the last two weeks and have 4 more next week to do

I found that the linesets with white Insulation are the problem any horizontal runs any dip in line oil will settle and cause line to leak,also insulation doesn't stand up to UV rays.

Make up an outlet that you can pull power from 1 leg on the disconnect. If the house doesn’t have a surge protector maybe add one on that disconnect.

you realize that's not a great thing to do right? because you're using the equipment ground as neutral. then if you connect both the ground and neutral from the cheater cord to the disconnect ground and it has a open/loose ground, that will make any grounded tool live at whatever voltage is not passing back to the panel properly. if it's bonded to condenser case it also can become live, as well as the line-set, evaporator coil and possible furnace or end up arcing at the furnace. alternate, you may break the current path removing the line-set or whip if it happens to be flowing through it. nothing like a grounded condenser and live ground from a whip shocking you. that really never should be done, unless the disconnect is a sub panel with four wires (isolated neutral). yeah, I know everyone does it, but the first person that gets shocked or if it arcs inside and starts a fire, that very well may be the last of your business(or someone's life). it's a bit less risky on an RTU, but even so, still a no-no.

From HVACschool: “Use a good deburring/reaming tool before swaging the copper. A high-quality inner/outer reaming tool is best for making flares. Deburring the copper is much more critical for flaring than for swaging. Failure to deburr the copper will always result in a poor quality flare and will lead to leaks.”
