Love the way you have kept everything so clean and compact. I have way too much supplies and too little space to be so neat and tidy no matter how hard I try. Would SO love a big, light and airy craft space like yours. So beautiful!

I too like the video holder! Wouldn't it be great to have some of our husbands filmed making these types of projects for others to see!?? I really like your bar handle on the wall above your desk. It would definetly help keep the desk/work/play area clear, as you said. Thank you for sharing and keeping this on your channel since 2014, never can go wrong with great ideas!!

Hi Wendy. Love your craft room. I saved it for future use. I have the tall storage container with handle and folders. I purchased it at Joann Fabrics. It comes with a lid that is a storage container as well. I am excited to re-purpose the use of mine to store my craft mats, score buddy and other tall things which are taking up precious shelf space. I noticed your Bible on the table. Great idea to keep one in the craft room to keep priorities straight. I start crafting and have a hard time stopping. waiting to see your updated craft room, too. Blessings.

The thing you are using to remove the backs of brads is actually a button shank remover. You can cut the sharks off of buttons so you can glue them down. Using it for a brad can dull it. They make small wire cutters and that would probably make a cleaner cut. I have both of these in my craft room and use each of them for those purposes.

Hi I know it's been a while since you did this video, But I just wanted to let you know that it was great for me because it helped me get started on the organization of my craft room,. I moved into my home in December and have been frustrated with trying to figure out how to put things, I had boxes and stuff everywhere couldn't even walk in my craft room. I really needed to get going on it so i could use it, so i was looking at videos and found yours. I can't wait to do my own video and hopefully I can help someone as well. Thanks for sharing these wonderful tips. Heather

I like your room. Very organized! I have a tip for you if you still have the wall unit gift that is really not practical....I feel your pain. That thing was so darn cute I had to have it on my wall! .... so, I bought one. Like you said, totally is taking up valuable real estate! Just when I was ready to take it down I discovered these tiny rectangular storage containers at the dollar store. You get 12 for a buck!( They also come in round shapes but the rectangular ones are a better fit.) Im a sucker for this kind of thing but this time it paid off! LOL heehee. I have 60! of these things on my wall unit and it is only half full! I store sequins, special buttons and working on putting wood and metal embellies in them. Mostly I store extra things that I have punched. I also have one for each alpha letter. Now when ever I want to create a quick card, tag or box I have all the little doodads (flowers, leaves, small images that I already have stamped and colored , and labels ready to go. the containers are clear with white tops so they look good in the wall unit. I tape a sample of each item on its box so i can quickly see it at a glance. I am so glad i didn't get rid of it! I placed a 6 cube storage unit under it, Each cube holds bling, stickers, fancy trims, blah, blah, blah. The thing is,it's organized, visually pleasing and it FUNCTIONS fast! Long winded way to say don't give up on it yet! LOL TFS!

Great quality video with lots of really good storage and organizing suggestions. I'm always curious when I see "thumbs down" for a video - what seems to be their problem? If they don't need the suggestions, go on to another video. No excuse for a thumbs down when the quality is good and so much work has gone into the making of a video. Thank you so much for sharing!

grace day HAHAHA! Grace I have wondered the SAME THING... Like what in the world in my video constitutes a thumbs down. But I honestly think I have one hater out there because EVERY video I do has AT LEAST one thumbs down and it's so annoying. I just wish I knew why. lol.

Hi Wendy!!! I know it’s been 5 years and I’ve seen ur videos before BUT I have a question … do you remember where you purchased the cubbie cabinets on ur desk? I’m looking for something this size for MY stamps and this would be the perfect size. I’ve been looking at other options and these seems to fit my area. The one to the left seems similar to the one I purchased at Target years ago, about the time you made this video. Unfortunately I can’t find them anymore. I’ve also seen ur video of ur IKEA stamp storage..what is the name of that rack/shelf? THANKS SO MUCH 😘!!!

Hey Wendy! I was wondering if you could send me what your family guys did to make those OUTSTANDING paper towers? My hubby is super handy with woodworking too. @WendyCranford
@WendyCranford 9 жыл бұрын
+Shanon Thatcher Hi Shanon, I actually don't have any of the info on how he built it. I basically took him a piece of paper and said I need a tower that has 10 14 slots that will fit this paper, and not be so deep that the paper sits way back. I told him I needed it to be flush with the front of the holder. Then I came back a week or two later and had these. lol... I know it's made of MFD board and that's about all I know. It was so long ago I am not sure he'd remember what all he did to make them.

@WendyCranford

The countertop is from IKEA. They are in 3 pieces. The drawer units were from Michaels. I don't really like them because the drawers don't hold very much weight and they don't pull out very far. I really loved your tour, definitely one of the best I've watched. I'm not a stamper, but I make things (jewelry, plaques, awards, miniatures, buttons, magnets, flat backs, hair pins, bookmarks, etc.) using resin and/or polymer clay and I want to completely remodel my craft room. You had some amazing ideas for storage and although we aren't storing the same things, I see how some of your suggestions will work for my supplies. I know it's kind of rude to ask this and obviously you don't need to answer, but do you have any idea how much it cost to get your space this organized? I know your friend and mom bought some items and I'm sure you've been accumulating things, but I'm trying to create little sections in my room depending on what I'm making. For example, an area for resin, one for polymer clay, one for wire working, a section for button making, an area that holds all my cutting boards with plenty of light for cutting, and finally a section that is just for baking my clay and letting my resin pieces cure. My hubby is very handy and I am basically taking over the dining room. He built me a long table that's about 8ft long on one side of the room. My thought was to basically run that table from one corner to the other end wrapping around the corner and half way down the adjoining wall. Then on the opposite side run a long table down 85% of that wall taking it from the corner to the doorway to the kitchen. That would leave half of one wall, a corner, and the small section of wall it connects to before reaching the other side of that kitchen doorway. I'm thinking that's where I can setup all my storage. But what scares me the most is the cost of all that furniture. Sorry I'm sure my babbling doesn't make much sense, but I'm so excited and I'm worried I just won't be able to afford it. Thank you again for the video.

Hi Kim, It has evolved over time. So to give a set amount would be hard. But to get the tables and counter tops it was about $500. Hope that helps. I got everything at IKEA for the most part.

Just wondering but iv looking for ideas to put cabinets and shelves in my craft room. Just wondering how do you people dare to leave your scissors and stuff just out and soooo accesable. Do you people not have kids? I have 5 girls and if my stuff was out like yours it would be missing and just gone. I hav a hard enough time keeping track of my 4 pairs of scissors and trying to hide them from my kids and they still end up missing. I could only imagine if i had all my other stuff out like you all. Other than beating my kids black and blue evry day to keep them out of my stuff what would you reccomend?????lol

Hi Elizabeth. I have one 6 year old. She takes my scissors but if she doesn't put them back she has to pay me $1. So she is really good about putting them back now. lol. Same with her shoes. If she lays them in the floor somewhere and not in her shoe basket and I pick them up then I put them in a box in my room and she either has to pay $1 to get them back or do a chore. I almost never find her shoes on the floor anymore. HOWEVER, I have ONE child and you have FIVE... so um, yeah, good luck with that.? LOL :)

***** hey Wendy Yeah i have such problems with my kids getting into my craft stuff its hard to keep it all together. I do alot of scrapbooking and had started getting all my photos organized into years and in order from beginning to now. And my kids over the years think it's cool to go and look at their pics and scatter them all over and hide some they want to keep in their rooms and they dont understand im trying to put them in their books and ugh its so frusturating. My girls are 10, 9, 5, 1 1/2, and 11 months. and my 5yr old has cut her hair like 5x already and her younger sisters hair too its crazy. i do admit im a little ocd and clean control freak so my kids r good with cleaning and keeping things picked up although they have a tendency to get into things of mine they arnt supposed to. my 3 oldest do get xtra chores quite often if they dont keep things picked up and have their daily chores too. But mayb one day they will all be older and i can not have to worry about my stuff and them not getting into things. until them im thinking the only answer to my prob is to lock my craft room door. lol best wishes to you in the new year and happy crafting.

Carolyn Smith No, they are smaller. They are not very deep. Wouldn't be a book shelf. I think they call them mini cubes . They are in the home organization section.
