I disagree with you because your center of gravity isn't close to your neck but close to your pelvis. In consequence you should place the heavier stufs on the bottom of your backpack and not on the top ...

Hello Valentin, You´re right the center of gravity of the human body is around its pelvis. I agree with you -- for me it feels more comfortable the closer the heavy stuff in my backpack is to my body. But often packing depends on individual preferences as well. Having a side access to your backpack allows you to pack as it feels the most comfortable for you regardless to what item you will need the soonest - I consider this a big advantage!
