I’ve done these exact drills with a 3 year old before. One more to add is I like pushing the toddler around a flat area in a figure 8. It’s a little tiring but I can make him get used to the feeling of going from toes to heels and vice versa.

I love this! I took my little cousin skiing a month ago. He's 6 though. We're from Brooklyn. So seeing snow and mountain was huge for him. It was awesome! His mother told me he hasn't stopped talking about it. Makes me really happy to see there memories building events. This will live with them forever.

I took my twin boys snowboarding last season they were around 18 months old, one method I used was letting them stand between my legs on my board, I lower my stance so I can hold them tightly around the arms and shoulder, and slowly going down mellow slopes. They seem to like it, but I will def try the backpack next season!

My nephew is 2 as well. He doesn't have any gear yet though. I took him up the magic carpet and he stood in between my bidings while I was strapped in and holding under his arms. Thats also a good technique. I think he could feel the snowboard under his feet while making the turns. He had a blast going fast.

Good tips, I do the same with the gloves and jacket.. We have the backpack as well, I use it for picking up the kid or guiding him with the backpack handles, but found using the leash for us was...meh..I liked him learning his balance with out the input/support from the leash.

Killing the Dad game! He's going to be a little ripper in no time. I snowboard and im taking my 2 year old this year but i was thinking of starting her on skis before snowboarding but after watching this i might just go straight to the board. Do you think they pick it up pretty quick? For me learning to ski was easier than learning to snowboard.

What's the advantage of the backpack leash over having a Riglet reel on the rear of the board? Just the spongy section? I'm taking my 3 year old to Perisher in Aus for a week this year (closest snow is 2.5 hrs from us, so daytrips with the kiddo aren't an option)

Awesome Nev mate. I've been looking at the MDXONE and decided against it as wasn't sure if it would be any use, but if you approve of it then I think I'll just go ahead and get one! It's my wee boys second visit to the alps this March on his board and he's only 21 months. We have the burton handle bar accessory, do you think this is a good tool or did you not bother with it? I'm still going to pack it this trip but hoping to get him on the board with just bindings at one point. Also, how did you decide Bryn was regular and not goofy? Thanks.
@nevlapwood9 ай бұрын
I like the MDXONE. I’ve used it a lot. Doesn’t matter if they are regular or goofy. Pretty much everyone is regular if you just start them that way. It doesn’t matter
@superkingpaco9 ай бұрын
@@nevlapwood nice one thanks. How’s your wee boy getting on with the boarding now? A proper little shredder?!
