I don't do thumbnails at all. I'm a shorts only channel, thumbnails are (mostly) out of my control. And not really necessary either, as 90% of my views come from people scrolling the feed. Title I do make before I even script the video, just after the video idea has been decided on.

I used to be guilty of not caring about the thumbnail. Now I make an effort to try to make a decent. The practice has been helping me improve. I’ve never thought I would be able to make decent thumbnails !! There’s a lot of room for improvement if I just spend more time

I still think showing your face on a thumbnail is important because people trust humans… this is why you will see a lot of thumbnails have faces on them because time and time again the data shows us images of faces improve. As far as a finished product… you could tease it by blurring it out so they would still want to watch to see how it turned out

I'm working on my first long form video, and just scripted the outline. Then stopped to create a Thumbnail and Title using both Canva & Copilot Ai. I fully understand that creating a successful channel will take a while for me. Thanks for the tips in this video.

I would love a full video on audience retention and specific examples of why people drop off. Also, Im one of those rare people who pays attention to the timestamps of videos and am excellent in identifying when the actual “meat” of the content is over and that’s where I click off. Maybe that’s just me being weird? lol. I always click off about 40 to 30 seconds before a video is over

That's why you want to make sure you structure your video so the viewer can't sense the end is coming!

Yes on Thumbnail and Title working together. I teach this to my clients all the time and I'm also reviewing their titles and thumbnails to ensure they are working together to increase those click through rates

No ones interested in my channel anyways so the thumbnail doesn’t matter as much. Kids attention spans are so low and people just view by impressions rather than take the time to watch the video smh
